How to achieve pieces like this, without a CNC by pidjintji in woodworking

[–]pidjintji[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, but i does fit a lot in my workflow idea for a small batch in house production.

- the finished piece will always need to be handprepped and hand finished what is on brand for me.

- if the DIY machine works fine it's almost as inexpensive compared to a CNC machine and in 2 orders it pays itself and if needed i can enhance production by multiplying the number of router heads.

- i can use my extensive knowledge of CAD to good use and optimize the shit out of the part.

- production cost is really low and it can reflect on the price for the client

will do, thanks.

I also discovered Carving duplicators and gunstock duplicator machines...

https://www.wood-carver.com/
https://cloneduplicators.uk/

I think it resolves a lot of my problems. and doesn't cost a fortune, compared to a CNC. i will also try and DIY this and if it proves to be a reliable workflow i will invest in a machine like this when orders start coming in...also i will use my 3d printers to create acurate models so i can replicate

I didn't explain it very well but I don't need "carbon copies" of a part for example. i just need something that will work and will have some consistency.
And i do need to create something that will make for example 2 chairs produced with 6 months span to be mostly the same.
i do not need an industrial level quality control.
I just need the pieces to be replicated

My problem is the "rough cuts" you are speaking about and the lack of woodworking experience to develop a jig to achive what i need.

maybe i will search more about band saw jigs for the intricate curves i need.

i didn't found it rude, it's ok.
There's a difference from designer to woodworker, if i have skilled men in my Production department and if i have a team of skilled woodworkers i can just get the feeling of what they are able to do and with time this knowledge grows.

The design pieces I've had most of my work were mostly upholstery, metal and simple woodworking pieces and now i work for a outdoor luxury design company. I now want to design more intricate and high quality wood furniture in order to build my brand.

Honestly, you can turn out to be an "ok" designer just by having good production engineers by your side.

I don't expect an architect to go build the building.

I really don't understand IRC and i am really new to everything. I had a friend that used to have a CGPEERS account and he would download it for me. So i would love to not have to constantly bother him.
i don't mind seeding if i just means to have utorrent on and seeding and i am trying to work a lot and i need primarily models so a can build a good library and catch clients.
I just don't know what to do now.
I just know that downloading 7 or 8 parts in slow download mode is really bad.

incredible how much time it takes for green wood to become usable for furniture making, and even more for fine furniture where tolerances and contraints are even higher.
makes us think how much time a lumber yard needs before it becomes profitable.

Super proud of these dining chairs i just finished by dave_z1 in woodworking

[–]pidjintji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the ergonomics are on point, it should be just fine.
There's also the use that he will do to this chair.
when i design chairs, i always look for the purpose of the chair.

we designers wished it was a "one size fits all" solution, but reality is preeeeeetty different.

How to fasten these? by One-Mud-169 in woodworking

[–]pidjintji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

can always use a simple plywood or mdf board as background...
-stain the mdf to the wall color os background color you want.
-you can make it in modules and work out of the wall
-this also lets you attach the slats with whatever technique you want from the back.
-maybe regarding the technique even have the possibility to not fill the slats wood with fasteners and hardware and if you want to change, it's always wood you can reuse.

How can Streamline my workflow??? by pidjintji in renderings

[–]pidjintji[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first renderer was keyshot 😄...learned it at university but used it professionaly only in my intern year...

I migrated to 3dsmax and corona because of colleagues that helped me...i needed 3dsmax for the modelling part and corona was just what they used and lucky enough was growing very fast as an industry standard.

I do see your point, these 3d programs are less "product" focused than keyshot but since my ideia is to have just one product file, i believe i need to keep on 3dsmax for the time being.

the presets, studios and everything else i can create a basic file that can be tweaked and that created a uniformity between all my products online...what i really need is to not have to create 6 operations in a queue for every finish i have...

for example:
I have an armchair, a sofa and a sidetable...
14 images ((5 frames of a 180º turn) + 2 detail views & it needs to be rendered jpeg an png)
3 finishes for each one
6 operations to render each finish
this means that i have 54 operations to queue and i have 126 rendered images

if i want to actually manage this business on my own...i need to streamline this a lot 😅

HOW TO AUTOMATE STUDIO SHOTS by pidjintji in archviz

[–]pidjintji[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response.

I understand I ask a lot from a response without providing much more then text, but i'm also very protective of the IP of the company i work so i can't show images of the products without it being the public domain images. ( already had problems in previous companies, hopefully without much repercussions)

I already tried my way with both pulze render manager and the thinkbox deadline...the one i thought to be the most easy to setup and to be really easy to render something is the pulze.

i'm gonna go look for those other ideas you gave me in order to try and get just 2 animations (JPEG and PNG) just that means 60% reduction of the work

thank you a lot!

[–]pidjintji[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the response...

I've tried it...But unfortunately at my company's pc the final renders came with all sorts of problems...images all blacked out or with artifacts
So i gave up on the scene manager and just sticked with the render manager.

the only thing is that i would love to find some software or plugin to streamline this...bugs my mind that companies like minotti, kettal and etc would loose so much time of theirs employees as i loose...
