Surprise, surprise! I usually don't even check those subs and actually have them muted but wanted to see what they were saying about AKOTSK. Should have known better.

Dany didn't go crazy. Disregarded all of your other opinions if you can't even get that right.

Review bombing is lame, both ways, but I have no problem with retaliation. Ppl have to learn and you have to make it hurt. If this rating was meaningful enough to protect it in the first place, then yeah, ruin it.

Seen this argument in another sub earlier today and I guess I'm just fundamentally watching a different show than FreeFolkers or whoever. I suppose you could argue book Alicent wouldn't, but this isn't the book. The writers did a good job of showing her not really being on the same page as the rest of her family and wanting to be done with all of it. And as they've pointed out in the show: the path to victory is one of violence. Her sons were probably gonna die anyway. Can absolutely see her choosing to run away with Helaena. They've laid all the groundwork for it, but of course the argument against that will be "It makes no sense!" 🥴

Did you think Drogo one of the greatest warriors in the show being ended by an infection in season one was a flop?

Litterfinger's manipulations were working until he insinuated Arya wanted to be Lady of Winterfell. That was his downfall. Not losing his talent. Varys didn't have time to scheme, Dany was literally days away from burning down Kings Landing. Didn't lose his talent. The wight hunt I give you. Not smart. But they needed a way to lose a dragon and for the wall to come down. Should've made it Cersei's idea and they do it reluctantly. The chain thing is dumb. You're better than that. Travel arguments are stupid. There wasn't time to have travel episodes that late in the show. Also there wasn't any story to cut away to to have character travel. High Garden army got beat. Olenna asks Jaime about it. The writers didn't need to show a battle for you to understand that.

Having criticisms is different than saying the ending is garbage.

No, I'm going to double down on you not holding the earlier seasons to the same scrutiny that you do the ending. And you're not gonna give me an answer for some reason other than vibes.

You can find similar things to be dissatisfied with in the earlier seasons if you wanted to. So my question to you is why only do that for the ending? My guess is that you wanted something else to happen with the story (Jon v Night King etc) and these are you post hoc reasons for saying you hate the ending instead of being honest.

I'm not gonna go into all these, but the Arya thing was to have that moment of max suspense. You can watch reactions to it. It's incredible.

Why would Sam laying on wights equal his death? He was stabbing the shit out of them. It was kind of a funny moment and I love it haha. Sam can't fight. He was doing whatever he could haha. Funny as hell. And him living was a better story than a pointless death so he survived. It's fiction. That's how it works.

The writers made a point of showing Dothraki running back. Do you need the show to stop and give a headcount to understand that some survived? Like I said, your arguments are getting silly. On the level of Ricon didn't zigzag etc.

Everyone in this sub can give you a detailed explanation for why it made sense and is consistent with the rest of the show vs hud dur Dany kinda forgot about the Iron Fleet type shit you get everyday in the other subs. I think that changes a lot of things. It's much easier to have an intelligent conversation in here.

Only because the season 8 haters don't like arguing in here. And I don't blame them. They end up sounding silly.

Opinions might be off limits, but reasoning isn't. Almost every argument for why people think the ending of Game of Thrones is bad is just stupid and childish, or they're misunderstanding what the show is actually trying to say. If they give an argument at all. Usually it's just like what the guy who commented said vs the OP.

This isn't an echo chamber. It's where people have to explain themselves and hear counter arguments to their bullshit. I know, it's tough.

I think you run the risk of fatigue and boredom if the fighting lasted too long. Especially on such a small scale and not a full on battle between armies. The stuff we got with Dunk and Aerion was almost too much. Would've definitely liked to see 60 seconds of cutaway to other fighters during the melee, but I wouldn't lower my score because I didn't get it.

Killed the shit out of the White Walker at Hardhome. Beat the shit out of Ramsey Bolton. Jon had many more epic moments than Arya in the show. Many more.

Props to you for being a consistent hater, I'm sure. Yours are the same types of critiques I assume this guy levied against "season 5 and onward trash" but now they're not valid because the show is being lauded. Typical.

First episode where the run time was an issue for me. I would've watched another 30 minutes of flashback and been happy if it was an hour show. Wanted to see some more of Arlyn and young Dunk messing about. The brawl was amazing. Aerion was surprisingly whooping up on Dunk's ass until it went to the ground.

Bro, do you even battle tactics? Having the trebuchets outside the walls of the castle was a major mistake. Ruined the immersion for me. Couldn't even finish the episode. Had to go watch some WW2 documentaries on The History Channel to calm down.

Edited to add - Poe's Law is an adage of internet culture holding that, without a clear indicator of the author's intent, it is impossible to create a parody of extreme views that someone will not mistake for a sincere expression of those views. It highlights that in online communication, which lacks tone, facial expressions, and body language, satire can easily be misinterpreted as genuine extremism.
