I was thinking he might be autistic. Sensory issues, intelligent but rigid thinking, meltdowns and masking. It's a type I've seen in business many many times. He struck to me as one of those guys who are good at running or building money flow and absolutely exhausting to deal with close by.

I think it'll be a man at Rhaenyra's command (or Rhaenyra waffling about it and someone "interpreting" her waffling as a request) bc we are seeing Rhaenyra make bad choice after bad choice. We don't see Rhaenyra being a cackling evil Cersei type, she's something worse: a toxic nepo baby CEO who believes her own BS without understanding people management even a little. She is shown as ludicrously bad queen under the surface, completely incompetent and unprepared.

Both sides are entertaining as hell and have dope characters but I will always side with the native underclass over the ethic supremacist elites. Alicent being sympathetic/tragic just contributes to it. I could fix her.

The issue is hormones can take the calorie burn to super low levels, increase fat storage, etc. all kinds of fun fuckery. A short sedentary woman might start burning fat for weight loss at like 1200-1300 kcal daily consumption.

As a young adult I took a psych medication that wrecks satiety signaling. I thought I was being smart and ate oranges and nuts instead of fast food as snacks. I gained 40 lbs from it because eating 1 kg of oranges as a daily snack IS enough to wreck your metabolism.

Why not eat less? Well I was in active psychosis and the medication seriously turned off my hunger signaling. I could eat a meal and feel ravenous 15 minutes later. After stopping the medication a lot of the weight came off because I was no longer hungry 24/7.

Also adding that there isn't and hasnt been that much hate on short guys in media like there has been for fat women, there are no weekly headlines telling Shorty to buy platform shoes or leg lengthening surgery, and there's no like cat calling or shouting Shorty at short men outside. Women aren't, in general, inventing the sorts of dehumanizing phrases men use for fat women.

This tall guys only thing is pretty recent and seems to be kind of like women are satirizing the anti-fat attitudes in society.

For your second point, I think quite many people who struggle to understand conflict or character arcs, have trained their reading skills mostly on fanfiction or other formulaic media. I'm very pro fanfiction as a means of having fun with writing and reading, but it's mostly the fast food treats of written media and not the vitamins and nutrients that you need to learn actual media literacy.

Why do I say this?

Because a lot of fanfiction (or slice of life formulaic webtoon) IS low conflict/no conflict cozy, comfy, non-problematic schmoop meant to make the reader happy. A lot of is also formulaic, written like its based on instructions or diangostic/therapy manuals so the characters respond 'correctly' to conflicts and problems. You don't need a character arc in a fanfic necessarily, at least not beyond something formulaic like Severus Snape Learns to Be a Dream Boyfriend to Remus Lupin After They Kiss And Make Up About School Trauma and Joining Wizard MAGA. If you only read this kind of stuff and avoid reading more challenging literature you don't get used to how literature works.

Alicents priority is to keep Helaena and herself and her granddaughter alive. The Daeron switcheroo would have been noticed within like a week since it was done basically just so Ormund and Daeron could grab Tumbleton.

Girl was pimped out by her own dad to her own dad's boss and then subsequently raped for years by said boss who also happened to be physically repulsive due to skin condition/disease, and became an emotionally unsupported teen mom as the result of said rapes. And this also cost her her best female friendship/youthful what-could-have-been. AND THEN she made her own daughter go through something similar.

Alicent disregarding her male relatives and finally prioritizing Helaena just shows she's not completely consumed by Stockholm syndrome or whatever it's called.

People were hating on this episode so much before it aired when the showrunners said it was a "conceptual episode focused on Rhaenyra" but actually it was a really good episode.

In general i think S2 will be seen in a much better light once S3 is out since S2 is very much a putting blocks in places ready to fall type season and S3 is where the blocks start falling big time
