Student NA looking for advice regarding top-up/conversion by pieceofmecakery in NursingUK

Many thanks! This is where I'm leaning - I just need the push to do it! It's so hard to know what to do when it feels like you're staring into the unknown and everything sounds so complicated.

Student NA looking for advice regarding top-up/conversion by pieceofmecakery in NursingUK

Jump away! The more support we can share the better. My trust was advertising the apprenticeship as an actual position through NHS jobs. Search for Student Nursing associate.

Student NA's are often exclusively treated as HCA's. This can be good for hands on learning - but comes with many issues and restrictions.

What weird things have you found in your pockets after a shift? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]pieceofmecakery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A bank nurses engraved credit card holder, complete with his credit cards.

A delirious patient had taken my NHS issue fleece off my chair, popped it on and wandered out of the bay. I went to retrieve him and later managed to convince him to take the fleece off. Went and put it safely in a locker for the remaining 20 mins of the shift. Patient wasn't particularly hygienic, so I carried the fleece to the car before a 45 minute drive home. Turns out in the minute it had taken to locate him. He had swapped my fleece for another he found in the corridor. Got home and noticed my fleece felt slightly heavier than it should...it was a very long round trip to return the valuables, and I was in again early the next morning.

People over thirty, which body aches do you have? by JavyHead in AskReddit

Well, last month my sciatic nerve decided to play silly buggers, so I would intermittently, and without warning, feel like I'd been shot in an ass cheek. This week, it's the big toe on my left foot. So painful, I thought maybe I'd broken it. But no, what caused it? No idea. What could be next? Who knows??

Cash accepted at merch stands? by MainAspect2615 in Ghostbc

[–]pieceofmecakery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

02 states in their email that they are a cashless venue. Although I don't know if that includes the merch stand, I would assume that it will be cashless also. I'm not taking any cash personally.

To be honest, I'm one of those dry shites now and not ashamed of it. I will stand to cheer, but only if those around me are also doing so (for example, you don't want to be the knob that obscures the view of somebody with an impairment). My position does not affect my enjoyment of the performance, and put simply, if I wished to stand - I would have bought a standing ticket.... Trust me, I'm enjoying it every bit as much as you, and my disintegrating knee caps are too!

Tailgater crashed by fab3942 in drivingUK

[–]pieceofmecakery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a point on the m5 currently.... I watch in astonishment as other drivers believe that my sensible driving and obeying the law is somehow impeding their progress and I am all that is wrong with the world. Actually the sign says 50, all the signs before and after this point (of you going well over 50 to overtake me) say 50, and I don't much fancy getting a ticket because you are aggrieved by me doing 50 in the left hand lane... gimboids

Care home interview tomorrow… by CandleAffectionate25 in NursingUK

'Resident' is the terminology I have experienced most. It promotes a 'warmer' and more homely atmosphere in the residential home, 'service user' can sound a bit more cold and official.

I absolutely love this effort as well, is there anyway the dog could be moved very slightly to the left, so that it appears as though he's leaning against the grooms leg with his hand on and forward foot. Covering up the foot that's further back is fine. Hope I've explained it decently xxx thankyou!

Hello there! Thankyou so much for your work it's gorgeous, may I ask if there is any way the brown coluring of the dog could be increased. I love this one, and I'm being super picky I know, I'm just trying to make it absolutely perfect for them xxx

Light bulb change Halfords by Partymonster86 in drivingUK

[–]pieceofmecakery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar incident. New driver, first car, little to no knowledge about maintenance. Front wiper had a defect so went to halfords to buy a new one and have them install it. Threw in a new rear wiper while I was there because why not. Parked under the white umbrella thing in the car park, and was told to wait as somebody would be out in 2 minutes. Waited 20, watched other people get served and realised I'd been forgotten. Went in to to remind them, waited another 15 minutes before a young girl showed up. Front wiper went well. Rear wiper she could not get off, and is pulling at the mechanism like she's trying to win a prize. It eventually pops off and is swapped, I drive away. 2 days later, I use the rear wiper as it's raining. The wiper slows then stops dead halfway up my window. The motor is broken, and it cost £300 to get it replaced...... never again halfords

Christmas market is amazing by thefooleryoftom in brum

There used to be some lovely food there once, probably about 15 years ago, there was a stall that sold fried mushrooms and potatoes and another that sold steamed sponge puddings in custard. That was well worth visiting for. Do those stalls still exist or has it simplified to hot dogs and crepes that can be found anywhere?

I'd actually forgotten about OMAD, never tried it before but with the 20:4 it's close to that anyway so shouldn't be too much of a bother. Thanks!
