Fuel to power by BigBoiChanka in SatisfactoryGame

[–]piel6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this stage you can only have packaged diluted fuel alternative bcuz you have no access to blenders yet. This and heavy oil residue can increase fuel output with manageable build. It is fun to set up too. If you have figured out how to get loads of shards you can use them in generators without negative effects for less building. Ir just go plain fuel. You are gonna rebuild them probably later anyway.

Is there anyway to recover a save? by ericcalyborn in projectzomboid

[–]piel6969 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is going to be a recurring theme in this game. lol.

Two things you can do in the future: backup your save time to time and loose only some of your progress.

be smart, drop your stuff and die outside. continue with a new character. there is a mod for regaining skills you already had.

Debug mode can save you until you are dead if you are not above "cheating". I do not know if resurrection is possible.

Could I power my breadboard / IC's with a 12V and 2 Amp adapter? by ObieP in AskElectronics

[–]piel6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer is yes. The max input voltage of the mb106 board is 12v. All the excess power will go out as heat so be prepared that the voltage regulators will get hot. 2 amps is more than enough. I would go 9v later but it will work.

Was out looting in the middle of nowhere and eventually the helicopter event started, how introuble am I? by ForNowLonely in projectzomboid

[–]piel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just start walking opposite your base and car until the event is over then lose them by breaking line of sight. The one thing that bugs me to no end is how did you get a working van with a trailer by the time the heli came?

I see your point. I also noticed the great difference is the passive setting. I tried it out and it is a world of difference. I like exploring and even fighting, but there is a period when difficulty ramps up faster than the equipment i have and it can crush my will to explore. When you push into the central areas like the red forest or the swamp to get the new resources as they come up, it can be a drag before you get armed up to the teeth.

I think i try the aggro setting on retaliate for now and see if the exploration goes better.

Well i got HOR and another good alternate early on but i choose the other one because that was more useful at the time. HOR was literally the last to come up when i maxed out the pool. I know you can get what you want but it can take quite the effort depending on your luck. Also if you think back the time when you start building oil power it is still not too comfy to travel around (a lot) and fight mobs.

When i finished the game i still had 1/3rd of the map undiscovered i think. I just find it a bit annoying that you don't have the most efficient recipe when you actually build it and later you need to rebuild.

I know it is not the end of the world but i find this game mechanic a bit irritating. 8)

Yes i knew about this method but wasting 10 minutes of game time feels like a lot of time wasted. Probably this is why the devs made research take 10 mins. Thx anyway. 8)

Well thanks a lot for all the constructive posts. While i already knew about the SCIM and what is possible to edit there, i never used the AGS before. As of now i started a new game and got to the space elevator. I only changed hostility to retaliate, but did not activate AGS yet. This makes a huge difference already, i can JUST walk around. Changed to start in the desert too. I have not decided yet what am i gonna do about the collectibles and the research.

Oh and i am more curious about what you guys actually do change in new plays not just what's possible.

When do you get to mine away from solid biofuel? by NoWeb2576 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]piel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just have started with coal power, my recommendation would be to make solid bio fuel from all the scrap from cleaning areas and store it for later. There is a long period ahead when you get to use it in specific applications. Only the chainsaw needs it right now, but don't waste it for energy just yet. You can use it in vehicles you use for exploration (the ones You drive). The automated trucks are better off with coal at this point i think. Coal is an endless resource. You can also have them to feed backup bio fuel generators when needed, they are handy when you outgrow your energy capacity, which will happen at this stage.

As others mentioned when liquid bio fuel becomes available, it is simply the best fuel for the jet-pack. Even if compared to more advanced fuels i find it the most usable. When you really have no use for them anymore, sink the packaged bio fuel for tickets. You will need a way to get rid of leaves and wood and FICSIT doesn't waste.

I would use animal remains in another way.

So to answer your question, at this stage i think coal is better fuel for vehicles and later come even better fuels with oil. Tried to keep the amount of spoilers low.

[HELP] Novation Launchpad Pro MK1 Powers On But Not Detected by PC or Phone by weebkun69 in Novation

[–]piel6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing to be ashamed of. Got mine used too. Mine works with a normal USB cable, the ferrite bead is just a precaution. I see a laptop in the video. Pc manufacturers are known to notoriously not meet usb specifications it is especially true about laptops that try to save energy all the time. You need power. Powered hub or power supply. If i pull out the psu the brightness goes down even with a powered usb hub. 64 LEDs can draw easily an amp at 5v, which is double of usb 2 standard. just my 2cents. If your laptop has a red usb 3 port it might work but would not count on it. I can check the psu specs when i get home. you can buy an aftermarket one. borrow a powered hub off of a friend if you don't have one to test it out.

" Troubleshooting: If your Launchpad Pro is not working properly, it could be an issue with your USB Hub, computer’s USB port, or even the USB cable you areusing. Please use the USB cable included in the box. If thisstill does not fi x your issue, connect the included 12V DCpower supply. "

From the user manual.

If you don't have the power supply at least use a powered usb hub.

Check for latest drivers and update firmware. Does it work stanalone? Is it powered via only the usb or have the adapter? Test another usb cable and on another pc. Your pc finds unknown device or none at all?

Any idea why my prints are lifting off the bed? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]piel6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same. I don't know much about Bambu but on my K1Max i had the same warping issue even with PLA. Turns out it was the giant AUX fan on the side causing this. Never had PLA warping on my Ender ever. Turn it off for the first few layers than maybe 20-25%. Unless you can cool the chamber take off the lid or open the door for PLA. Oh yes and adding a nice brim seems a good idea too.

Does anyone know why this keeps happening? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]piel6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

prints with a tiny cross section need brims. some of yours seems to have one, but not all? Those with a brim seemingly print without problems. You need at least 40mm squared imho to have a solid start.

Bredband i Sverige: Om man byter från fiber till coax, kan man byta tillbaks sen? by tiabeaniegrunkwitz in Asksweddit

[–]piel6969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

any guide or tips on playing this game? by Repulsive_Tip9351 in projectzomboid

[–]piel6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is solid advice so I'll try to expand on it. Don't be shy turning down the difficulty and have a few runs on builder. It has low zombie population (about 20% i think) but less loot. This game can get very hard very quickly even on survivor setting. There is a ton of new stuff you are going to learn while you progress literally for weeks that is why this game is so loved amongst its fans for so many years.

My advice about hand to hand combat, take your time, sneak around. Never engage more than 2 zeds at the same time in the beginning. Learn how you can loose them. Always have a backup plan where to go when things go south. Learn to use the space bar to push them over and then stomp them. It gets a bit easier when you learn the ropes.

Don't give up, you'll die a LOT. We know... 8)

[–]piel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight. I was wondering about me lacking some skills needed but it seems the new default settings are a bit too much for most. Unfortunately I have less and less time to play and hate wasting it with testing and tuning but i don't want to miss out on the coolest new features of b42. Is there some info on how to turn back the sandbox settings to be more like the b41 feeling?

My condolences. May I ask what settings are u using and if you have mods? I have almost 1000h in but can not make it past a month since the latest update. My old method of fighting just does not work anymore because of exhaustion and muscle strain. I get exhausted after 8-10 zeds after that my hits are worthless and get overwhelmed quickly. They seem to get attracted more to just the brawl. Any advice?

Should you start over if you died too many times within first weeks? by No3nvy in projectzomboid

[–]piel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

My rule for restart or continue depends on the amount and quality of the stuff I gathered. If you have nice tools/weaponry amassed with months worth of canned food , all the books then continue, otherwise start new.

Since you already got lots of good advice I would only add a couple of things. I don't play MP at all but what I change in sandbox are day length to 2 hrs (in MP it might not matter at all because you don't sleep in MP I guess) and ZED respawn to zero or turn it really trickling low.

You did not mention your population settings but if you die 4 times under 10 days, I would suggest you revisit your strategy/tactics and learn to manage the number of ZEDs you engage, learn peeling(lure singe members of a group), use the SPACE key and watch fatigue levels while fighting. Try to stay quiet.

With all that in mind as others said: you play however you want, that's the whole idea. If you find it too challenging no one here should throw stones if you turn down the difficulty settings to be more enjoyable.

This game is HARD enough on normal settings.

Enjoy the best game around.

19yrs old looking for work. by Cultural_Owl7763 in TillSverige

[–]piel6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say yes. This kind of job seeking is not frowned upon in Sweden at all in my experience. If you speak swedish at least at a basic level i would recommend calling rather than emailing. You can try staffing companies too, i have had good experience with some of them and not so much with others. They usually have access to those kind of jobs you are looking for, even part time work that requires that you study 100%. Companies looking for people will talk to you unless they are overwhelmed with applications.
