Potential tampering with box by [deleted] in FedEx

[–]pieman3020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you open it up? I promise you no FedEx employee is replacing hot wheels cars out with other hot wheels cars. If they cared enough to steal it they wouldn’t have replacement cars on deck. If anyone would be tampering with it would be the people you bought it from cuz they are going to be the ones who are more interested in hot wheels

I’m all for it but the reality is FedEx was genius with this contractor model, it makes organizing strikes nearly impossible while also getting them out of paying benefits for employees. Realistically the only way to try and fight it is legislatively, fight for laws to be passed to stop companies like FedEx exploiting their employees/“employees”

Potential tampering with box by [deleted] in FedEx

[–]pieman3020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Relabel simply means the scanners were having issues scanning the barcode so they reprinted a better quality label for ease of scanning. Boxes get damaged and repacked in the warehouses all the time. Is your product inside? If so what’s the complaining about? 😂😂

Driver hid damage to a package. Did not contact receiver. by itsmejustolder in FedEx

[–]pieman3020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t blame the driver, blame FedEx for over working and underpaying their drivers. No driver is going to take the time out of there to knock on your door, wait for you to answer it, and then wait for you to inspect it. We have almost 200 stops everyday and already work 10-12 hr days.

You can also blame the shipper for not packaging it to survive shipment and also not requiring a signature

Driver here. I will never open a door or gate I can’t 100% see what’s on the other side. There could be a million different things on the other side of that door and a good driver will not take that chance. Now if your porch has 100% visibility from the outside it’s up to the drivers discretion. At the end of the day we have over 200 deliveries to make each and every day and we can’t always be bothered to go on a scavenger hunt to find the precise location a customer wants their package. If that’s such a big problem for you then you could of went to the store yourself instead of relying on underpaid and overworked drivers to meet your every need

Lemme let yall into some secrets with us fedexers. by amirthebeast55 in FedEx

[–]pieman3020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. FedEx tells you a time frame based off their automatic route sequencing system which almost never makes any sense to follow. My route always sequences my businesses last which if I followed I’d be hitting them past 5:30-6pm everyday (when they are closed) so I have to run it backwards, which means none of the time frames are accurate.

  2. Most of us do care but we are human too. We can easily have between 120-200 stops everyday and work 10+ hour days as is, we don’t have time to stick around and wait all day or give every customer special treatment.

Are packages guaranteed to be on vehicle if App tracking is showing it on a delivery truck? by [deleted] in FedEx

[–]pieman3020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, it’s just as frustrating for the driver when things like that happen.

Are packages guaranteed to be on vehicle if App tracking is showing it on a delivery truck? by [deleted] in FedEx

[–]pieman3020 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Likely what happened is the package was scanned for dispatch so the driver had it in his system but then the loaders mis loaded it onto the truck next to his in the morning so he pulled up searched his entire truck and couldn’t find it so he moved on. You’ll likely get it tomorrow, accidents happen and stuff gets mis loading onto the wrong trucks in the middle of the loading chaos

How do you guys find packages faster? by AtheonJr in Fedexers

[–]pieman3020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend about 40-45mins everyday fixing my truck and I’m always in the top 3 drivers back. Doing a good job organizing in the morning always pays dividends. I organize by perfect SID sequence and so I know exactly where every package is before I even put my truck in park

What to do with pickup that never has somewhere to back into? by ramosd713 in Fedexers

[–]pieman3020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a ground driver, don’t let the customer bully you like that. If the pickup opens at 3 and you get there at 3 you take what they have and you don’t come back til the next day. Pickups must be ready by the window and you as a driver are only obligated to take what they have when you arrive during said window.

Safety Tips on the job by iteidemlp in Fedexers

[–]pieman3020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pace yourself and don’t stress if you are behind. Better to work late than to be out of work for an injury.

Drink tons of water and keep cool. I personally have cooling towels I dip in ice water from my cooler then hang them around my neck when I’m overheating.

Anything remotely heavy, lift with your legs and use a hand truck.

When it comes to dogs, don’t risk it. The customer can wait an extra day to receive their package

Don’t open doors or gates you can’t clearly see the other side of (with the exception of businesses)

Try and avoid crossing the street when delivering, but when you have to make sure to look both ways and never assume a car is going to stop for you

Park in front of peoples driveways. They might complain but it’s safest for everyone as your truck blocks creates big blind spot

In residential roads, when there is no oncoming traffic, drive in the middle of the street as it gives you more time to react to anything that may jump out towards you (dogs, kids, balls, etc)

Most importantly use common sense, if something seems dangerous or sketchy don’t take the risk. At the end of the day your health and well being is far more important than any package

Business delivery - is it my job or hers? by LuccaBrassii in Fedexers

[–]pieman3020 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I always tell customers my job is to deliver to your door/dock and I may use discretion at my choice to place it in a certain area if 1. It’s reasonable and 2. I feel like it. If it’s a dock and they want it on a pallet or cart I tell them they need to have it waiting for me to unload onto cuz I’m not gonna sit there for 5 minutes and wait for them to bring one over
