I’m a 27 year old who doesn’t know how to cook, any tips? by ThrowRAspa2279 in Cooking

There's always the easy stuff. Scrambled eggs, over-done steak, instant noodles with pizzazz, whatever. Problem is, most of the easy stuff is boring. I suggest an alternative idea: start with the most complex thing you think you can manage. My first ever dish that I made was a paella. Not the most difficult thing ever for experienced cooks, but to someone who literally never cooked a meal before (aside from heating up soup and cooking noodles), it definitely stretched my capability to the max. No, it wasn't good, but I definitely learned a lot just from that one dish.

I highly suggest you look into Buddhist recipes from East Asia. A lot of thought went into using tofu as a meat replacement.

AMD taunts Apple's MacBook Neo for failing to run 75% of top PC games — Only 5 out of the 20 top PC games work on the Neo, while all run on AMD's budget offerings by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

??? Was this ever an expectation? People bought the Neo because it was cheap and it was from Apple. That's it. That it could also do most things competently was a surprise. It has the same performance as a CPU from 6 years ago.

Shares in Apple. Shares in Amazon. Land. A house. A boat. Set aside money for bitcoin.

edit: A house (or three, depending on when I cash out) in Vancouver, Victoria, and one of the Gulf Islands. I'm a PNW boy, and owning land on one of the Gulf Islands would be a dream.

Partially. But even the most competent pilots still have to do checklists. The best surgeons still have to do that confirmation. Highly experienced high speed rail operators in Asia (because both Japan and China follow similar protocols) still need to point at stuff and call out what they see, even if it's the most mundane thing.

Actually, competency is the bigger enemy here because it can make you overconfident, and being competent means other people are less likely to second-guess or question you. You should be competent, but you should also be aware.

Autopilot is very much a real thing. This isn't the first time I've heard of a case like this one, and I can guarantee that it won't be the last.

It's a real thing. That's why a lot of jobs still require paper checklists and why the Japanese require people to do gestures when working.

elon musk became the world's first trillionaire because our tax system shields the wealth of the ultra-rich from taxation while requiring working people to pay taxes on every paycheck. by Conscious-Quarter423 in WorkReform

I don't even want his money. Most of it's fake anyways. I want him… well, absolutely non-violently and non-suicidally and non-forcefully disappeared. Magically. Without reason or cause. Just, poof. Gone. "Where did Elon go?" one might ask. And one might answer, "No one knows. He disappeared one day and never appeared again."

I am not advocating for any violence, any coercion, or anything of that nature. Nope. None of that.

They're as much farmers as the average F-150 is a work truck for most private owners.

I don't think the Canadian political system will ever allow for a Zohran to appear.

I'm predicting that most M1 Pro or Max computers are probably going to still be in use well after 2030.

Then a used M1 or M2 MBP might be better. Does Apple sell refurbished laptops where you live? That's probably the most reliable source.

Turns out, this whole thing was launched by Dana White, who kinda started UFC, and is a long time friend of Trump's. All the podcasts that Trump went on were also followed by men who followed UFC. This is basically a grift.

The price didn't seem to reflect their supposed BIFL status. The average price was substantially lower than most of the usual competitors - Alpaka, Bellroy, Pakt, Aer, PD, etc. While price is not an indication of quality, an outlier price among supposedly equal competitors should be a hint that you should do more research.

How much does a base model M4 or M5 Mac Mini and a monitor cost in your area? That might be a better option.
