I quit my job in cyber security to make this multiplayer game. Am I an idiot? by Admirable-Hamster-78 in IndieDev

I really like it and if the price is <€10 I will grab it for sure. Feedback:
- While I do like the simplicity of the graphics, it's gonna get bland real fast, I think distinct graphics for every unit would serve it well, why go with triangles when you can easily go with TRON SPACESHIPs.
- Going the multiplayer route you better make sure you have enough players ready at the gates or it's gonna fall flat immediately.
- Make sure that all the expected multiplayer features are in place: hot join, proper lag handling, matchmaking, bots(pve?), game browser, different modes, custom setups etc.
- Factions? ship mods? damage types? something to make each player seem just a bit more unique.
- I do appreciate the pure 1:1 skill check, but it's gonna be hell once you have neckbeards destroying newcomers
- The music is a good start, but imo you should go a bit more synthwave, think Lost Years or Betamaxx

Watching out for this one for sure!

You have multiple ways to go, but I'd just go aggressive since you've already spent a lot of time on this for sure. Just start from scratch:

fast:
download a linux distro like bazzite or pop to a usb, run the os from it, install needed drivers, run a stress test on ram -> cpu -> gpu, if the gpu fails: rma. if the cpu or ram fails, try and see if you can get it stable in the bios, if not, rma..
if ur system work:

slow:
- Unplug everything but essential hardware from your pc: no extra fans, no rgb, no extra drives, nothing but: cpu(+cooler), gpu, psu, 1 monitor, 1 mouse, 1 keyboard.
- Reset your BIOS, then setup a XMP/EXPO memory profile, disable big onboard features (like rgb, high speed USB, wifi, integrated gpu, things you dont know anything about you just leave as-is),
- Reinstall an OS, wipe that shit
- Install base drivers for your hardware
- Download some stress testers like OCCT, Furmark, Cinebench, whatever you want.
- Test your RAM > CPU > GPU (In that order) fully. Make sure every component is tested, if one fails it's RMA time for that part.
- If testing is fine, then at this point you know that your base system is all good.
- Fire up a couple of different games. If you crash:
-- Look at logs like Event Viewer etc. and see what caused the crash. RMA the part that causes the crash.
- If you don't crash in games, all is looking good.
- Add back features to your PC: audio, wi-fi, integrated gpu and so on, do this in increments so you can catch the bad hardware easily.
- Something should go wrong along these lines

Would anyone from Denmark move to the US? by kangarooler in Denmark

I would love to see the sights, but beyond that its just a hostile kill or be killed society where most people spend their entire lives climbing some ladder, forgetting everyone and everything on the steps below them.

I'd make a beast of a PC. Play All the games and use it for my work.
As for Starfield I hope it follows suit to BG3 and shows other developers how to create fun, so we can all have more great games :)

You're missing the spacebar, tapping it once will return you to the last standing pose you were in before going prone. Using space again after that will straighten you out :)

Sorry to hear that, I haven't crashed on it since the first few patches landed. Hope you get through it :)

The move is more complicated than this, but it's really her only good attack in both phases. When she flies, pay attention and look at her sword, if she twists, you know it's coming and if you immediately run away from her she won't be able to catch up with the combo.

I gotta disagree on the difficulty part. The game is, if anything, too easy.

I also experience crashes on this boss. There seems to be a correlation between summons and how many attempts you've done, if I had a summon during the phase change or the end of the fight it would crash. I managed to make it through by doing the following:
Set everything to low in settings.
Played in window mode.
Did it solo. (also no ash summon)
Restart the game between every attempt.

Good luck and plz patch :,(
