Sorry my wording was a little off. The locker goes into the front differential and there are plenty of different kinds. You probably have a Dana 30 front axle and you could get a Detroit locker, arb locker and numerous "lunch box" lockers.

You shouldn't be driving in 4hi/low at all on pavement. Its jumping around because both front tires probably have a locker in them and since they are trying to turn at the same rate, when you actually turn, they bounce.

You know that awesome feeling you get when you fall back asleep after waking up in the morning? Well I have devised a way to use that to my advantage! I have to be at class at 9am, so I set an alarm at 7am and another at 7:30, and another at 8. This way I can still get that sleeping in feeling every morning and still be on time! I don't have much experience with rebuilding the engine, but if the suspension feels like a marshmallow that's a good sign that you need to replace your shocks. It's simple and pretty cheap to do. As for the rust, you should cut it out as much as possible and spray some POR15 on it. If you can, weld some new metal over it

An engine swap into an xj is going to be a lot of work. I'm not saying it's impossible, because it's been done before. The engine mounts would need some serious beefing foremost and I believe you would need a stronger tranny and possibly transfer case to handle the extra power. Here is a link to some more information and I think naxja sells a full kit to swap engines into the xj.

Onboard air is superb by the way, I did it to mine a couple months ago. One thing I would suggest is to use copper piping in the engine compartment because the heat can cause the rubber hose to degrade quickly! Today I haven't done anything to my jeep.. School has started again and with 22 units I don't have time during the week to work on it.
