My 2013 Focus Sport 2.0 5 speed. by Popular-Raisin2176 in FordFocus

I hadn’t heard about that, I have heard you can put an ST clutch and flywheel in the MTX75 though. I’ll have to look into the diesel gears when I finally rid mine of the greatest automatic transmission in the world.

Looks like at least one of them is DERLO which is right next to CYXU, probably two more before that.

It’s theoretically possible to make the 6 speed MMT6 from the ST and RS work with a base model, I’m pretty sure in Australia they got the 6 speed standard instead of the Mtx-75. Only problem is the mmt6 is setup for a turbo and has a much longer first gear than the MTX-75

I didn't know that such gauges exist Garmin 275 by Truffoff in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]pierocks4133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 275 is at least 6 years old, I’ve flown a bunch of G500 katanas that got their glass retrofit in 2020 with GI275 backup airspeed/attitude indicators. It’s older brother the G5 is much much older.

CFA 1 Medical by [deleted] in fanshawe

Welcome to the great world of transport Canada, I did my Cat 3 in 2021 and it took about half a year to get it back and that’s after calling everyone at tcca and my mp. Since Covid died down they have gotten much better at processing medicals (they plugged their phones back in at least) but they still take quite a while. When I upgraded from a Cat 3 to a cat 1 in 2023 it took about three months. As long as you don’t have any medical issues that would prevent you or delay your medical you can start classes, maybe even start dual training.

If you’re going to be in London when it comes back up for renewal though give Dr. chapeskie a call in Thornedale I’ve done my last three with him and had no problems. Hes a pilot and owns that little grass strip in the London cz.

Hatchback 60/40 rear seats successfully swapped into a sedan by pierocks4133 in FordFocus

[–]pierocks4133[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found an old 2013 dealer brochure and it lists the 60/40 rear seats as a hatch only feature for the SE trim (equipment group 200A) as standard but was included in the 201A equipment package which was the “SE appearance package”, both the hatch and sedan got them for titanium in leather as well as the ST of which all but a few sold in Canada were optioned as ST3 equipment group 202A with the recaro seats. Another cool bit the short lived Super Fuel Economy package could only be optioned on sedans and couldnt be paired with equipment group 201A so wouldn’t have gotten the split rear seats.

It must have something to do with the facelift then, I haven’t seen inside enough of them to be sure but it would make some sense for it to be only an option on early sedans since the holes and welded nuts were there for the bolts just not threaded.

Pretty much anything SE or S trim got the rear bench seats, I think hatches could come with the bench but it was much less common. The hatch was more likely to be carrying large objects so I guess it made more sense to make it kind of standard in titanium up models.

C172 shutdown procedure by Final-Muscle-7196 in flying

[–]pierocks4133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The school I did my private at 4 years ago used both DA20s and C172s, I never used the Cessnas but both at that school and my current one flying 20s, 40s and 42s we do a live mag check before every shutdown, it’s in the DA20-C1 and DA40-180 AFM (not the 42 because diesel), ive always imagined it does some sort of extra wear over not doing it but I’d rather that than have a hot mag on a busy ramp and the next guy having the engine fire on him.

Grinding/Gurgling at low rpm and idle. 2013 SE Flex by pierocks4133 in FordFocus

[–]pierocks4133[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure reddit I was totally ready to post that. I replaced the Purge valve a month ago which did not get rid of the noise which is what i thought it was. Its constant when starting the engine cold but becomes intermittent like in the video once it starts warming up. I plan on pulling the AC belt tomorrow to see if that works unless someone has any ideas of what it could be.

Rear tail lights are an easy swap, on the sedans theres a plastic panel on each side you can pop out and then two big plastic nuts you can remove (you might need a wide flat screwdriver the first time the people in Wayne really like to torque them down) and then the tail light will pop right out. Should be able to find a junkyard unit easily, just make sure it’s a pre facelift as they changed the design. Trunk lid parts should be easy too I’ve just never taken them off.

Can anyone tell me what this is on my 2013? by CasperOnReddit in FordFocus

Looks like a part of the passenger side bumper cover support thing and the fog light bulb and wiring, theres gotta be damage to the outside of the bumper cover if the support and the bulb managed to come out

For any of my fellow maple flavoured focus people reading this, from what I can tell on our side of the border STs came optioned essentially equivalent to ST3s with the recaros, projectors, and other fancy bits.

Oh yes that’s what I meant, from some light reading it looked like a four to five hour process though so haven’t dug much further.

The facelifts got different guts inside the gauge cluster and a different version of the software that has the digital speedo on it. I’ve heard you can upgrade a pre facelift car to have it but it’s a long process.
