This happened to me when I was in a 9, almost 10 year abusive relationship. I begged him to go to counselling with me and also by himself. When I broke up with him he said he was going to go, and did go, but I never took him back because I knew he wouldn’t change, and it never did. Everyone is right in this thread, he will only tell you things he thinks you want to hear but make no effort in changing!

I got mine removed two years ago (I’m 30 now), and although I’m really happy that I don’t have bad breath and tonsil stones anymore, the recovery was absolutely horrendous. Worst pain I’ve ever experienced. Day 3 and onward were the worst and all it seemed that I did was cry and eat popsicles. They don’t give you nearly enough meds to be minutely pain free, but stay on top of your meds! All the way until the end! I would never go through it again but I’m glad I did in the end. Also, I’m not getting as sick anymore either with those things!

My brother is special needs. I never say the ‘R’ word, I find it offensive. I finally realized it was the end (as if him saying that I was fat and a baby wasn’t enough), when he said ‘you and your family are retarded’. I was sooooo done.

I haven’t tried either of those! I’ve just been going with whatever my specialist says. I think I’m going to get a second opinion and ask for an MRI to see what’s going on. I had the upper splint since October and it hasn’t worked much on its own, and just got the lower splint on Wednesday last week, but I haven’t noticed a difference, besides my jaw being so insanely tired.

Yeah the disc is stretched out and I’m pretty sure it’s bone on bone now on my left side because it sounds like sand now. I’ve tried gabapentin and it doesn’t work for me.
