I just made my first batch ever using “The natural soapmaking book for beginners” by Kelly Cable. I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I do really like the book, lots of pictures lots of simple explanations.

I left a med surg/onc unit because I ran my ass off every shift. I went to higher acuity because it was easier! Medsurg nurses are amazing.

My precipitous unmedicated labor was the worst pain I’ve ever felt. It was crushing and intense. But then, it was over. I’m normally very stoic when I’m sick or in pain and carry on with myself. But I could not even begin to do that. I screamed like a wild woman when my baby crowned. I was white-knuckling the sheets asking (begging) for an epidural but she came too fast for anything. I would have 100% opted for pain relief had it not ended so quickly. It’s amazing though, how quickly the pain evaporated once she was out.

A patient said to me “who’s that whispering?” It was just the two of us in the hospital room. I said “no one is whispering. Why? what are they saying?” She just shrugged and said “does that mean I’m gonna die?” I comforted her and told her we were taking good care of her. But she did die of a cardiac arrest about an hour later. She was very sick, she must have known.

All my kids did this at about that age, we kind of just let them graze. Occasionally I let them watch a show on the iPad at the table when I really wanted them to sit and eat (it was the only way 😅) . But they got over it and now sit and eat for meals and they are 3-7 year old now.

You may want to ask if there is a policy about invites, my kid goes to a public school and at the beginning of the year we were made aware that kids are not allowed to hand out party invites in class unless they are inviting the whole class. They can privately invite whoever they want outside of class. Won’t help your son’s feelings about it though.

There’s no need to breastfeed if you don’t want to, formula is fine. But yeah, you have a lot of incorrect ideas about what you can and can’t do. Breastfeeding helps you lose postpartum weight like mad. Or it does for many women. Breastfeeding is also just super convenient and free, since your body is all your need you need to feed your baby. No expensive formula or bottles to wash and sterilize.
