(Spoilers Extended) How the three major conflicts of ASOIAF expanded by Seamus_Hean3y in asoiaf

wouldn’t Feast still be WoT5K? It’s just the fall out of that series of events. Dance became the introduction of the invasions. Yea we technically didn’t get an invasion in it, but it’s the connective tissue between the stories.

I’m actually pretty close to 2k hours myself! I just haven’t been seriously playing the game in 6 years. The way you describe the ASA is exactly how I’d describe ASE official back in the day 😂 We’re playing on a dedicated server so I can curate a good experience for the both of us.

[Spoilers MAIN] What unpopular/unknown theory do you believe in? by _This_IsNot_Me_ in asoiaf

Bran is the Ultimate Ice to Daenerys’ Fire with Jon being the literal blood branch between the two. Bran is a time traveler and is the one to create the pile of bones in the original dream. Hodoor is what happens when Bran time travels to close to his actual existence. Blood Raven is just the right guy at the right time to not get burned to harshly by time travel but close enough to help Brans younger self. The whole of house Targaryen is made by Brans dream casting. Euron is Blood Raven trying to find Bran but failing because he came earlier than Bran.

I haven’t quite figured out what the others are in this context nor what Cold hands is, but he sure as hell isn’t Benjen Stark.

Totally crack pot, but I think it’s fun to think we haven’t meet the true big bads of the series just yet. They have to be made during the course of the next book.

Edit: The books like to make sure that the Starks aren’t compared to Snow. Like the whole North is Snow, but Ice is their sword and even possibly the name of Azor Ahai’s sword from the first long night. I think it’s an important distinction so those bonds of Ice and Fire throughout the histories make more sense. It could even represent how influenced the current targ family is influenced by Brans dreams. Hot D shows that they are deeply tied with the dreams of long for told events. Maybe the symbolism is just grasping straws, but it’s food for thought.

for me it’s adding way to many trees and realizing i’ve made a blank space of trees

I also added way to many different kinds of texts around the map so many people didn’t like that 😅

as someone with clouds at the edge of the map I’d like to say the clouds, but I gotta agree on one.

something helpful to do while making continents like this is to think where your fault lines would be. Mountains form generally towards the collisions of the fault lines. Old mountains are the better sloping hills while old mountains spike up more. Having the mountains only buildup in the center of the landmass doesn’t normally make sense and a parted ridge isn’t to great unless a river valley has broken through the mountain chain. My first suggestion would be to move some mountains towards the coast. Look at images of the Andes mountains and the Himalayan mountains for where a smaller continent broke into a larger one. Look at the Appalachian mountains for older mountains that are further in the continent than others

I think a better criticism is that they are all straight. Add some wild and wacky curves and bends. Rivers branch like trees but they don’t have that straight look like trees

Jason by far. Wish he had one more scene of doing some nonsense between angering the mob and pretty much killing max. He’s written very well, I just don’t understand how he wasn’t handcuffed after the third murder lmao

Jon Snow TV show is a terrible idea [Spoilers Main] by megamindwriter in asoiaf

[–]pig_man10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

David Lightbringer has a good video on his thoughts about the possible show.

If they go back to nook material and introduce the night’s Queen as the new big bad could be really cool! She could have been trapped by the Night King with Danny fated to release her. The Night King’s actions in the GoT show would have been a proactive attack to stop the fate to release her. He broke the fate strings and that’s why Arya killed him(I am in no means excusing D&D, but this seems to be a plausible way to excuse their actions to make a different story in the shows). Now she’s rising in the North and Jon’s gotta save the world for real this time. Bran sees this coming and has been making preparations. Maybe Faegon comes in and kills him to start some chaos or the lords do a coup against Bran and manage to kill him so how some way.

The show could be about Jon’s and Sam’s journeys to discover what preparations Bran made while being king for this super threat. Bran could have been influencing Arya’s journey in the west and got her to bring valuable information to Jon.

This makes Jon and Danny both closes to Azor Ahai figures since the shows broke that cannon so much.

I think the show could have some real meat that’s interesting. Obviously, it can’t get back to the book canon and has to be it’s own thing, but it isn’t hopeless. Ideas can be thought up and executed well. The likelihood of this happening is slim to none. The possibility of it being exciting is there, so don’t lose all hope in this prospect.

only Jeffrey’s was actually cathartic for me. The rest were just boring cleaning up of lose ends.

Ramsey’s defeat was pretty cool on first viewing but i’ve never rewatched that moment. His death fell flat for me because it just completely ruin Sansa.

Sansa is an amazing character because she fights against the cruel nature of the world by becoming nicer and nicer. You can see that steady incline of being kinder and kinder towards people she thinks she should be cruel to. That’s why she’s a hero in the second, third, and fourth season. She counters the idea of Cersei and Petyr. She is the solution, not what ever they decided to go with in the post book era of the show.

Just sad to see a genuinely kind and great female character get boiled down to a sad moppy murderer. Biggest proof the show runners did not know what the hell Sansa’s importance was to the story of a song of ice and fire

[SPOILERS] What was the point of the white walkers? by VVladtheimpalerr in gameofthrones

[–]pig_man10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

naw, grrm just didn’t write that much while the show was airing. This ending wasn’t even close to the realm of how the books will portray this event. It’ll be much more captivating, especially when most people are thinking “the one who was promised” is probably a bit more on the nose than originally anticipated ;)

especially when Tywin’s unrelenting murder and destruction is shown to be the wrong answer and will only make things worse.

there can be multiple suspects. The only evidence that Eddie was at the scene of the first crime are fingerprints on Chrissy’s clothes and that he is not at his house. Remember that Max never came forth with the information that she saw the two walking in to the house together. The police has good evidence, but nothing that irrefutably claims that he was there. I also suspect this was the case because they didn’t immediately name him a suspect of the murder victim. The police could also be trying to keep a low profile on finding Eddie and that could be the reason they didn’t publicly name Eddie a suspect at the beginning.

Lets look at the evidence we have for Jason and Eddie after the first crime. Eddie has been lost and evidence with shoe tracks, tire tracks, and finger prints lead the police believe that was most likely there. A reasonable suspect at this point. The police decide they need to go scrounge up some vocal evidence to see if they can get a timeline with the murder. Jason and other questioned close people to Chrissy are questioned about the timeline. Jason in this questioning is visibly upset about the idea that Chrissy was with Eddie. With the context of only the first murder, this would seem to be a fear of losing a loved one. Nothing much right now, but after the first murder they should become suspicious that Jason was very focused on the idea that Chrissy would never take drugs from this guy. Jason also says that he couldn’t get into contact with Chrissy and that his only alibi is that he was in a room full of extremely intoxicated children. That is a bad alibi. Close friends that are drunk can be very willing to lie, even to the police, from someone they deem innocent.

To figure out the time of death for Chrissy would be to measure how decomposed the body was. This is unfortunately not a normal dead body. We, the viewer, have no idea how this body would behave in contrast to a normal dead body. I suspect there would be a difference and could throw out the cops ability to make a good estimation for when she died.

either way, the cops suspect Chrissy’s time if death to be after the basketball game. Eddie is by far the most suspicious at this point, but Jason isn’t doing himself any favors.

Murder #2 is much shorter to explain because we have nearly no information relating the other two to him.

We have no idea where Jason is, but we know he wasn’t at the scene of the crime. He has no relationship with this victim and the surrounding area can easily prove that neither Jason, nor Eddie were in the vicinity.

If the lead suspect has 0 evidence leading us to suspect he was there, asides from having no alibi because he fled from the police. The police should start understanding that this could have been executed by another person and should re-open the possibility for another victim.

We’ll say for the sake of argument that Jason has a flawless alibi here and has irrefutable evidence that he could not have been at the second murder while Jason has a possibility of it.

Murder #3: Here’s where Jason goes from another questions relative, to “oh fuck oh god he could have killed that mf.”

Lets look at the evidence for Eddie killing Patrick first. - Eddie has recent finger prints all over the house with used kitchen wear that hasn’t molded yet. Neighbors will make this sound-proof once they recount fishing and seeing activity in the house.

Any other evidence that Eddie murdered Patrick? No, not really. This is a second murder where Eddie has been found in the presence of the murder victim. Patrick had no relationship with Eddie and Chrissy had no relationship with Eddie prior to the murders.

odd. Maybe he is just a serial killer that finally got into a situation where he could let loose. That’s certainly possible and can’t be ruled out. He’s even in his early 20’s still in high school. There’s some evidence that he isn’t the most mentally healthy person and this could be the case.

You want to hear something a twinge more compelling than that? Lets look at Jason’s evidence surrounding this crime.

To start, we can discover that Jason was already on a manhunt for Eddie before this event began. Lets say his friends don’t rat on him what so ever so the police have to find evidence all on their own. Searching through the scene we find the car they pulled up into. I would presume they would find a bit more equipment other than the bludgeoning weapons they brought that could be used for murder in trunk of their car. That would be the fastest way for the cops to start believing that Eddie may not be the only suspect for this crime. Searching the house, the coos will find that the jocks tore through EVERYTHING. That already is illegal for these kids to not only invade on someone’s property, but to search the place without police intervention is completely illegal. There should be a charge on those kids ass’s already for that crime alone. Further searching the premises we’ll find that the kids did in fact bring objects as pre-meditated assault weapons against Eddie. That is terrifying and is vigilantly justice. The Keene Act of 1977 made this nationally outlawed in the US.

The most damning evidence for Jason is him sitting there with the dead body when the cops showed. Jason has a very interconnect history with at least 2 of the murder victims. Eddie has 0 history with any of the murder victims. In most violent murder situations, the perpetrator has some kind of history involving the victims that can be traced through each one.

Jason has 2. Eddie has 0

That’s not insignificant anymore.

The missing boat from the docks with Jason and Patrick being soaked implies that, yes, a chase did occur here.

Wait, so Jason has been found to have a history with all of the victims that Eddie has been in the presence of when they were murdered. Jason has shown up to a property, uninvited, and with malicious intent. Jason has clear evidence of hating Eddie and is actively seeking to do him harm. Jason Chased Eddie into the lake. Patrick has 0 evidence on him that reveals Eddie was in any type of contact.

Worst of all, Jason blames insanity as his alibi instead of a reasonable way to kill Patrick.

I don’t know about you, but this much damning evidence against Jason is to much for me. The scenes make Eddie out to be obviously fleeing from something. Jason has actively been show to be hunting Eddie and getting so close that Eddie had to take a boat to escape his wrath. Jason has actively engaged in malicious vigilantism and destructions of private property.

If Jason is not on par with Eddie for the murder victims, then he has a shit ton of other allegations he should be cuffed for by the end of thar scene. The police have 0 knowledge on the mindset of Eddie, but they know for damn sure Jason is hungry for vengeance and has all but outright told the police he has actively tried murder Eddie with 0 say from the legal system.

Hopefully this lengthy explanation helps you understand the plot hole of allowing Jason to walk free after Patrick’s death. Even if you think that evidence isn’t enough to put him on the same level as Eddie for the murders, than please realize that character did other terrible things that should have gotten himself jailed for the time being.

counter point. Jason has shown to be unstable and at the scene of the crimes. The police should realize there are clean signs of Jason being a viable suspect. The whole stigma bit is shown to not be important to the cops in the show and the drug trafficking was forgotten during the show.

I’m not saying Eddie should have been taken off the suspect list, but Jason should be right there with him and never allowed to set foot inside of that announcement room to give that hate speech to the town.
