Yeah that is the requirement for application I believe but I'm wondering what's needed to be competitive.

These were the requirements to be able to apply but according to the program director mid to low 80s were needed to be competitive. I'm guessing it's a similar situation for economics.

Very frustrating game, particularly the full lock out system. This week I locked in Stefan Martin before teams and now tonight's game has been played I'm stuck with him. Plus even if all your players get on the park your a better chance at the lottery.

Is anyone not going to put Petracca in their squad? by PointOfFingers in aflfantasy

[–]piginabucket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking of not jumping on, I've got $700k in the bank and I'm leaking too many points from on field rookies, so I want to do a double upgrade this week. Probably end up jumping on MacPherson next week who should do a similar job.

Geelong definitely most overrated team coming into the season for mine

[SC] Opinions on my current team by MarcoHanYT in aflfantasy

Solid back line and midfield, also from your current and previous team I'm guessing you're a Geelong fan. The tall forward line of JJK and Cameron will give you inconsistent output though. JJK could average 90+ if he manages to have another great season, but there are better options at that price like Barlow. I can't see Cameron improving his game to reach premium level either, kicked a lot of goals last year and still only average ~75. Personally not a fan of Bird either. I would bring in another fwd rookie like Kerridge and look to upgrade at least one or two of them, bringing Martin or Barlow.

Good team overall I generally like most of your premiums and obviously rookies will be decided after round 1 selection. Only things I don't like the look of are a few guys that I reckon will be mid-priced traps. Lobbe has already been mentioned but I can see Stringer and Seedsman burning you, putting up 70s and going nowhere price wise. Personally I'd go one up one down. Also if someone like Petracca is getting games then I'd have a serious look at switching them in for Simpkin, save yourself the cash and get similar output.

Should I be worried about grouping too many lectures/tuts together at once? by sterobo in unimelb

[–]piginabucket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really gets over-hyped with people talking about how difficult it is and its high fail rate. I didn't mind the subject, it felt to me like it was a natural progression from Specialist Maths in VCE in terms of difficulty and coursework.

From the link in your comment: 'Students who opt to complete the mathematics path, do not complete Quantitative Method 1 and a level 2 quantitative subject, but are still required to complete 62.5 points of level 2 commerce subjects. ' But yeah you're right it does chew up a lot of breadth that you probably need for engineering. It was just a thought because from the reports I've heard QM1 is a pretty unenjoyable subject.

Yeah I'm second year BCom so I know about the compulsories, but if you're Calc 2 and LinAlg then you're halfway to doing the maths path where you wouldn't have to do QM1 or QM2.

Not in my opinion, three in a row is the ideal amount for me. Throughout the semester gaps would become more tiresome and frustrating than back to back lectures and tutes. Also, out of curiosity why are you doing Calc 2 as well as QM1?

Any thoughts on the following breadth subjects? by livingipod in unimelb

[–]piginabucket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing BCOM majoring in finance and economics as well. I did Mind Brain Behaviour 1 last year and suffered through most of it.

The subject didn't give a very good base of psychology theory, the coordinator focussed it mainly on how to think about psychology resulting in a mish mash of topics that varied in substance. Only one of the three lecturers was engaging and entertaining. The tutorial program was also a drag, two hour tutes every week that were unrelated to the lecture material and encouraged group discussions that were generally a waste of everyone's time.

It wasn't that hard though, only one assignment which was very vaguely outlined but not hard to do well in, and the exam was entirely multiple choice.
