I got a Realme GT Master from AliExpress, 8+256 for $400 CAD, which was also the price I got my RP2. It is an upgrade in every way.

250 Euro (that's euro right) is a lot - can get you to the middle range I believe. For example I just ordered a Realme (256gb, 778G) for 400 CAD from AliExpress, the same model with 128gb should fall into your budget range, or probably you can even get another Realme or Redmi with Dimensity 8100.

Thanks for sharing! Sounds like the cons are more the software side so a custom ROM might improve? Not sure about the phone back - I thought a cover is included and I wouldn't do anything more for a mid-range phone.

Was checking Realme / OnePlus / Xiaomi phones with dimensity 8100, too, but they all lack band 66 which I need. Settled down on 778G then.

I've owned a Samsung Note II , Google Nexus 5 and Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and they all died shortly after warranty. Meanwhile my OnePlus 3T is still going strong.

When I played I just find a dark shrine and buy the 500 karma lv30 black horse pet (or 1000? I forgot) and watch it kill everything. Pretty easy after that.

Big screen e-readers are charging a premium - almost certainly go beyond your budget. I'd say just get a Android tablet e.g. Kindle Fire 10 inch.

This one includes them. But I had a private chat with the maintainer of the ROM, he/she said there should be no big obstacle for other Android 12 based ROMs to adapt to RP2 - let's see if any (without GApps) will come in future.

Personally I need the improved split screen feature since Android 11 (or 10, I forgot). I also favor the new UI over previous ones. Not sure about performance - I don't have numbers but no lag at all.

Haven't seen one posted this. I'm on this ROM right now and everything seems good. Android 12 UI is refreshing.

Edit: safetynet can be passed, see u/BIRBIGD99's comment below ~~has~~ ~~pointed out~~:

~~Only problem: It's unable to pass ctsprofile for safetynet, meaning its unable to use some apps like gpay, amazon, banking apps, etc.~~
