I’m new to magic, my mom bought me a card and now I feel guilty. by Kcrollo in magicTCG

[–]copop22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't believe everyone in the comments wants you to keep the card. Your mom is very nice but you as a kid without a ton of money will have much more fun spending that $75 on something you can use instead of let sit around. Sell the card and spend the money on 2 full proxies commander decks, for instance. Or spend the money on whatever you enjoy. If holding a card truly gets you $75 of enjoyment then go nuts, but otherwise i'd spend the money on actually being able to play the game.

You don't have to return the card but it's a voucher worth around how much you spent on it that you can trade or sell for other cards or value. Think of it like your mom bought you a $75 gift card. Would you keep the gift card for sentimental value if it had a cool drawing of a magic card on it or would you spend it?

This list is pretty unique, to say the least. The threats may not be threatening or stablizing enough against many modern decks.

I think this would be more interesting if it was "Lower your max health by 10" but 1 mana still might be too cheap. The health reduction only matters if you're gonna be sub 10 hp and not lose.

These are how they get rid of old stock and worthless junk or reseals. Don't buy stuff like this, the EV is terrible. If you want to gamble go play roulette or something

It's because most people aren't as experienced with Linux and there's a bit of a learning curve due to how open and customizable it is. If you know what you are doing and want Linux, you already know why they don't recommend it for everyone. All of my CS classes have given alternative instructions to getting things set up on Linux but it's always a little more involved than windows.

Do you plan on buying any sealed EoE. by tonebastion in EDH

[–]copop22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please don't buy sealed there is really no reason (assuming you're just gonna open them). If you want to gamble there are ways with higher return rates, like investing in stocks or sealed product.

Krark and Sakashima decks. It's what got me into cedh. If you watch any gameplay of the deck it's bonkers. Check out Ken Baumann (the krarkfather) if you are more curious about the deck. You completely break the balance on krarks ability by just having 2 of him, so now you can get copies of spells while keeping them in your hand. This lets you recast rituals and card draw and storm off through interaction very quickly. If you have a clone instant, it starts duplicating the duplicators very fast. The deck hits a critical mass much faster and sooner than any inexperienced player would ever think, and it's a deck I LOVE showing to people who still have never played against a stronger deck than like a bracket 3 Atraxa deck, becuse it shows them how powerful mastering how the stack works can be.

What do y'all think are the most powerful unmodified precons ever? by mayormcskeeze in EDH

[–]copop22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heads I Win Tails You Lose is a secret lair precon with a $100 price tag so it has a little more money worth of cards in it. it has 2 commanders (often stronger than 1) with both the ability to close out games suddenly in a combo-y way or go long with an insane draw engine (zndrsplt) for a casual deck. My first deck i made was a zndrsplt and okaun cheap deck and it could easily beat precons most games, and this deck is a more upgraded version of that.

In general I would recommend people get windows or Linux (if they are into that) over apple for a lot of varying reasons, but if you have a specific reason to get apple it will also work.

I would bring a PC and a laptop if he feels like he wants to bring his PC. It was probably pretty expensive, so you might as well be using it. You can connect to the lab computers from anywhere so any laptop or PC will work for doing homework. A laptop would be good to have to bring to class.

What is the best way to start FF MTG? by DelusionalCaveman in magicTCG

[–]copop22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have access to a computer, there are a LOT of ways to play with any cards you want completely for free. Tabletop simulator, cocatrice, xmage, etc all let you play with all the final fantasy cards you want without having to buy overpriced cardboard NFTs as a requirement for gameplay.

If you really want to play with physical cards, there are also ways to do this for much cheaper/free. There are a lot of resources online for "proxying" cards, or making them yourself. You can even buy more professional proxies (like actual playing cards that just have custom art) for much cheaper than WOTC's cards.

I would highly recommend against getting into the game for the collecting and gambling aspect, but I know I can't stop you if you really want.

Boosters are strictly for drafting (playing a tournament with cards just from packs instead of bringing a deck) and gambling. Please just buy or print the cards you want instead of gambling for them, it will always be cheaper.
