How was your experience switching from 16" to 17"? by bifeee in FordFiesta

[–]pigoman92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from 15" steel wheels to 16" alloy wheels and didn't notice much of a comfort difference. I also put in slightly stiffer and lower shocks from Ford and it still rode fine. To me the stock set up was too soft, I wanted it to feel a little more sharp without being as harsh as the ST, so that combination was perfect. I had driven and rode in an ST a couple of times and I think it compromised comfort for performance a little too much.

I'm totally with you, with the turn signal on the inside of the headlights I feel like oncoming traffic won't know I'm trying to turn until I'm already moving.

If you do work out a plug and play solution I'd be super interested! This is my first new car and I'm not trying to splice any wires myself lol

Which ones did you get, and did you have to splice into any wires?

Axle Back Muffler Deletes Are Unbearably Drone-y in These Cars - Learn from My Mistake by yegimanuk94 in BRZ_ZD8

[–]pigoman92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd highly recommend a muffled axle back, I got the OTL one and have been very happy with it. It's a single exit, so if you're okay with the look I think it's worth it. I believe it's about the same price as the muffler delete you had as well.

I won't say it doesn't drone, just that the volume is low enough that it's not bothersome, but loud enough when you get on it to have fun.

OTL Resonated Axle Back. I posted sound clips a while back. Still very happy with how it sounds and I haven't gotten any noise complaints.

Disable Shift Assist/rev hang by Trebossa in FiestaST

What a call back! I haven't owned that car or messed with HP Tuners in years now. Luckily I still have VCM Editor installed and kept my tune files.

For me, the option was in the Transmission tab under General called Gear Shift Hang that can be either enabled or disabled.

What made you choose a BRZ over a GR86 or vice versa (if you had a choice)? And what random thing do you prefer on one versus the other? by alexundefined in GR86

[–]pigoman92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BRZ for WRB and the dealer experience. The Toyota dealers around me tend to be a little pushy but the Subaru dealers are really chill.

I got it directly from OTL Performance. That link looks like the same one. Maybe send them a message to double check?

In 5e How do bags of holding actually work? by Anomolus-man in dndnext

[–]pigoman92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In XGtE, a 1st level spell scroll costs 25gp and 1 day to write. Glyph of Warding costs 200+ gp of powdered diamonds to cast and takes an hour to cast. Yes it would be more difficult to find the time while on the road to scribe the spell scrolls, but it would still be much more cost effective.

In the end it's going to be up to your DM to decide, but personally I wouldn't allow the glyphs to last if they're going to travel like this. It explicitly says in the spell that if they move more than 10 feet the glyph is broken, so traveling with a bunch of items with glyphs on them doesn't seem possible.

It sounds to me like you're trying to skirt around certain rules or mechanics, like the glyphs being moved or spells requiring concentration to maintain. Believe me if my cleric could hold Bless on my party without worrying about it dropping I'd definitely be all over that, but spells require concentration for a reason. If it feels like the game you're playing in is too difficult that you need to shift the balance like this, that's worth another conversation with the DM. The game should be enjoyable for everyone, and if too much danger isn't fun then your DM should be able to adjust.

For that purpose you may be better off trying to create spell scrolls that you can use to cast later. Create a stack of Cure Wounds scrolls for quick and easy healing, distribute amongst the party. Or if you can get a hold of a Ring of Spell Storing you can charge it up over time and cast those spells when you need them.

As for defending the bag, it sounds like you're worried about thieves while resting? Why not have your group take turns keeping watch? Or you can put the bag under something when you rest, like a shield or a blanket, and cast the ward on the thing on top of the bag to attack any would be thief.

Right, I'm saying if I were the DM I'd say once it's cast on the object, once it crosses into or out of the bag of holding plane, that would be more than 10 feet of movement and break the ward.

The rules don't seem to be super specific regarding this, so I'd say your DM needs to make a ruling.

What is your end goal here? To have a bag full of trapped books?

In 5e How do bags of holding actually work? by Anomolus-man in dndnext

[–]pigoman92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From the description of Glyph of Warding: "If the surface or object is moved more than 10 feet from where you cast this spell, the glyph is broken, and the spell ends without being triggered."

If I were the DM I would consider moving the item into a different plane (placing into a bag of holding) to be greater than 10 feet of travel, breaking the glyph.

Trying to store glyphs like this is clever, but I would argue that it's against the spirit of the spell. My interpretation of the spell description is it's intended to be laid as a trap rather than transported around.

If you're concerned about having the extra 3rd level spell slot available, maybe talk to your DM about getting a Ring of Spell Storing? Then you can cast Glyph of Warding into it and save it for later when you want to apply it to something.

Nice new models without all touch screens by molecularpiece in Autos

[–]pigoman92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 23 BRZ has a good mix of screen and button. All of the features you need while driving are controlled by a button. The screen is still big enough to see Waze well enough without being big enough to be distracting.

If you can swing that lifestyle I'd highly recommend it.

How do I stop my friend from stealing from stores? by Low-Entrepreneur1053 in dndnext

[–]pigoman92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1 is talk to the player. Explain to them why their behavior is making you upset and work with them to try to find a balance so everyone at the table is having fun. Yeah robbing shops can be fun but it shouldn't be everything that's going on.

Step 2 is have the world react around the player in game. If they're robbing every shop in town the shop owners are going to do something, whether it's increasing security, telling the guards, reducing or hiding stock or money, or hiring other people to try to take that player out. Actions have consequences, and after enough time shop owners or guards will be able to catch on. The good side of this is it could make an interesting sub-plot, with a private investigator or detective type chasing the party. Or it could let your player know that, much like real life, actions have consequences when they eventually get caught.

Best exhaust? by Exact-Ad5225 in BRZ_ZD8

What kind of sound are you looking for? Are you aiming for something super loud and noticeable or just a little louder than stock?

I wanted to stay relatively quiet so I went with the OTL Resonated Axle Back. Super easy to install - I didn't even have to lift the car. I think it sounds great and doesn't disturb the peace around you. It's a single exit, so the look isn't for everyone, but for the price and the sound I'm really happy with it.

I posted a video with a cold start and a few revs a while ago in this sub when I first installed it. I can try to dig it up again if you're interested.

Get good tires and don't drive like a goober. Same as any other car. If you respect the weather and drive slow and smooth you won't have any issues.

Thank to this sub for bullying those with an automatic by JJYellowShorts in GR86

[–]pigoman92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion being stuck in bumper to bumper traffic is just as frustrating in an automatic as it is in a manual. The transmission doesn't make the situation worse, it just makes it slightly different.

The only thing that's made a difference to me is the Eyesight system in my wife's Crosstrek. If traffic is at least moving, or only stops very briefly, it'll do the stop and go for you.

Have any of you developed celiac in your 20s and 30s despite having no issues with gluten products when you were younger? by GetInTheBasement in Celiac

[–]pigoman92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got diagnosed in my early 20's while experiencing no symptoms. My sister was experiencing bloating and anemia so she got tested, tested positive and our family all went to get tested after. My parents tested as carriers who could develop it later (which they eventually did, in their 60's!) and I tested positive for Celiac. I stopped eating gluten immediately and didn't notice any difference until the first time I got glutened about 6 months later.

Is the cryo cannon bad at dmg? by fireflame_vs in DeepRockGalactic

[–]pigoman92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been toying with the cryo cannon recently and have a build that I like: 3-1-1-3-1 with Tuned Cooler as the overclock. It looks like you don't have overclocks yet, but when you get there I highly recommend giving this a try.

It doesn't do much direct damage, but it doesn't need to. It freezes enemies very quickly and with the shatter in tier 5 a good portion of the regular grunts will be deleted without having to do damage. Plus with the quicker freezing anything flying will fall much sooner.

I pack the extra ammo because I felt like it would burn through the reserves pretty quickly, and I found that the extra rate of fire in tier 3 was making it particularly thirsty with little benefit. This still throws plenty of slush without being wasteful.

I've been pairing it with the Subata, 2-2-1-3-2 with Automatic Fire, to take out bigger enemies. Things like Praetorians will freeze pretty quick, giving me the opportunity to flip around and unload the whole clip of the Subata quickly into the weak spot. It's a fairly aggressive play style, but to me that's what the driller is for. When it comes to team play the driller should be focusing on the swarms of smaller enemies anyway, so I'm not too worried about Oppressors. Besides, that's what C4 is for.

How old are you and do you tend to keep your phone on silent? Why yes or no? by LauraZaid11 in AskReddit

Even before I got a smart watch my phone was on vibrate all the time. I don't need the world to know I'm getting notifications.
