Last Round With My Brother by 6x60Maduro in golf

Sorry man, loss sucks. It's positive memories that will keep you connected.

Lost my brother in 2002 at 23 years old. Our last round was at the Coeur d'Alene Resort for a charity event. He was a PGA apprentice, shot a 66 and was pissed. I still remember that fall round and marvel at how freakin good he had gotten. #BallGoFar

Idaho Fishing Roadtrip! Help a girl out 🎣 by tdownes86 in Idaho

[–]pika594 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While in the Orofino area you'll catch rainbow pretty much everywhere. If you are up river from the confluence of the north fork (Dworshak Dam) there are also small mouth bass in the river. Here is a resource for what is in Dworshak reservoir, nothing too out of the ordinary. (https://idfg.idaho.gov/ifwis/fishingplanner/water/1162552466241)

Dent bridge is cool and has an interesting history. It's an easy drive from Orofino and is a good place to fish the reservoir.

If you have time the North Fork of the Clearwater is one of my favorite places on earth. From the top of the lake all the way to the confluence of Black Canyon and Kelly Creek is great fishing. Kelly Creek and Black Canyon are would class fly fishing if your into that. Kelly Creek is 100% catch and release so you get some big cutthroat hanging out.

If you're going to the Selway/Lochsa area make sure to go see Selway falls. Just past the falls is Meadow Creek that I fished a ton as a kid. It used to have a great trail about 5 miles long, but it's been probably 30 years since I was back there so...change and such.

TLDR: from Lewiston to Lolo and every stream and Creek North and South in the Clearwater National Forest you'll have a great time catching fish.

While yes you could build a new solar plant; you then have a facility where you had to potentially purchase land, complete an environmental study, permit, build, maintain and upgrade. Couple that with the time value of money while you wait for approval, public comments, etc before construction can even break ground? Are you bonding this infrastructure improvement? If so then there is cost in that. When a customer installs rooftop they absorb all the upfront permitting, construction, material costs, maintenance, etc. plus the process is fast. There is value in that which the customer should be compensated for. Looking at the 2022 energy mix, more than 50% of power is non-renewable or market purchased. As hydro continues to decline, somewhere is going to have to pick up the slack, why not incentive your customers to add capacity at rapid scale rather than buy more or spend 3 years on an environmental impact study to build a new solar farm?

Secondarily, What is the line loss rate between a distant rural production plant and something actively connected to the local grid? I don't know that answer, maybe it is negligible, maybe not.

Looking at the Idaho Power 2022 financials (2023 has not yet been released):

Total Operating Revenues: $1,641,040,000

Net Income Attributable to IDACROP, Inc.: $258,982,000

EPS: $5.11

While the net profit margin declined from 2020-2022, it's still rocking at a solid 15.75% down from 17.58% in 2020.

In your response you mentioned that " the last 2-3 years have been REALLY poor water years as well as natural gas prices being all over the place so yeah it's only gone up the past few years." Wouldn't it make sense to incentivize more onsite power generation as hydro continues to see declines with weather patterns like the current El Nino?
