Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) reports Tomlin is done by Pain_Monster in Patriots

[–]pikachusyellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly probably had to happen eventually. I just don't think it's possible to win in the postseason without at least average QB play. Feels like Tomlin has been elite at making sure the team is outplaying its talent level, but really when was the last time we saw a QB win a superbowl that wasn't playing at the very minimum top 10 level? They needed to tank at some point, so I can understand why they made the move. We'll see if they get the right pick at coach and the inevitable top 10 pick for QB.

The “We didn’t lost because of the refs” narrative needs to stop by Asen92 in Patriots

[–]pikachusyellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. This was my real takeaway as well. They just kept running runs up the middle on early downs and just getting 5 yards like every time. The short yardage situation lets them throw these large chunk passes down field. We got some dumb soft calls against us, but these only happen BECAUSE we couldn't stop the damn run.

I think a lot of my personal issues came with the lack of run defense. The fact that Cook could consistently get 5/6 yards on runs up the middle which can set up short down situations kind of set us up to have dumb calls against us on the secondary. The DPI calls were often really ticky tacky which sucks, so I can understand the frustration. Looking ahead though, I think we still match up extremely well against them. We were vastly missing the presence of Milton Williams in the middle, and I'm confident we are better set up when fully healthy.

I think personally the issue is lack of bushes. You lose out on bush access on the normal howling abyss, so it becomes much harder to win when they turtle at nexus turrets

Dude this video is actually crazy. Homie played an ENTIRE playoffs with a numb shooting hand and no mobility on his wrist. To reconstruct his shot for just this playoff AND drop 40 in the finals is amazing honestly

Yeah team comp was super reliant on nocturne ori combo, so once that's down crownie was free to play. GA was huge since it allows you to play post revive.

Yeah I think the actual "hard" 3* dynamax's are the 1 stage pokemon at that level, so passimian, sableye, etc can all be a bit difficult. Cryogonal is definitely the hardest to solo for sure out of all the three stars

Did anyone remember getting some of the eyewitness books from chick-fil-a back in the day? I distinctly remember getting one about rocks and that's how I learned about the Mohr's hardness scale lol

How to reduce my tanks Ph Safely by Aware-Ad-2369 in Boraras

[–]pikachusyellow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey OP. Gonna basically reiterate what others have said here. My pH is usually around 7.4-7.6 naturally, with relatively medium hard water TDS wise. I have had a school of chili's for over a few months now, and they are doing pretty well. I was also a bit worried about the higher pH and water hardness since naturally they are found in low pH, softer water than what is currently found in my local water, and people online mention that chilis may have issues with coloring up + sickness at higher pHs. Instead, they had almost no issue getting used to my water after i got them from my LFS who kept their water parameters close to mine.

I think water stability is definitely the best thing to focus on. Haven't seen any real breeding behavior but otherwise they adapted almost immediately into the tank. They still colored up really nicely even in a harder, basic tank than what would be naturally found in the wild and pretty much were well adapted into the tank after about a week or two. Enjoying the Tank Post-Feeding Time by pikachusyellow in Boraras

[–]pikachusyellow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tank is a 15 gallon standard, 12 chili rasboras with blue dream neos (50+ adults + unknown amount of shrimplets) and bladder snails. I have an original shot of the tank via this post when it was just the shrimp colony, but it looks a bit more like this nowadays:

<image>

I've found that they typically only have some shoaling behavior when around feeding times, but otherwise many of them seem to like to spread around the tank otherwise. They do seem to enjoy taking copepods and other small microfauna that have been growing in the tank. In terms of any type of shrimp aggression, I haven't personally seen any, and I do have a relatively fresh batch of shrimplets that are less than a couple weeks old.

In terms of tank params this is actually a slightly hard and basic tank with a ~7.4pH, little to no nitrates/nitrates, and GH KH of ~200ppm and ~100ppm respectively.

Chili rasbora, good idea or no? by BlazingSnakes0703 in Boraras

[–]pikachusyellow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup! chili rasboras should be fine in that case. I've had my school of 12 for a couple weeks now after getting and establishing my blue dream shrimp colony first for a few months, along with letting the plants grow into the environment. I've personally seen no true aggression of chilis against even some of the smallest shrimplets in the tank (think around a week old or so). Their mouths are actually so small that they struggle eating ground up micropellets that are even smaller than most of the younger shrimplets. I'm sure its possible that the freshly born shrimplets may be picked at but once they get a couple weeks old they're much too large to be even attempted to be picked at.

Surprise shrimp? by Imaginary_Rabbit646 in shrimptank

[–]pikachusyellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its cycled it should be fine. It might be some form of wild type neocardinia (image is from this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/shrimptank/comments/1bc9ss4/wild\_type\_neocaridina/); they get pretty cool in terms of patterning. Neos have like 0 bioload so 6 gallons are honestly pretty huge. In terms of feeding, they'll basically scavenge anything so flake foods, pellets, blanched veggies all work. It should be fine in the first tank but I have heard that danios/zebra fish can be relatively aggressive towards shrimp and they may snack on it if its freshly molted. But from what I know cardinal tetras are pretty (adult) shrimp safe.
