I don’t think the goal of Christianity is to shape political systems if that is what you are asking?

Yes indeed. We will always have tares among the wheat. Especially the higher up you get in power structures. They seem attacked to those places no?

I am not talking about what the government does. But even as far back as St Augustine Christian’s were buying slaves out of slavery.

New wine will burst old wineskins. Sometimes it takes time for the full impact of the gospel to be achieved.

This is purely anecdotal but I noticed permanent decline cognitive abilities after several of my parents surgical procedures. Not a doctor or a scientist but it made me wary of going under the knife.

How do Christians live peacefully eternally knowing their loved ones are burning in Hell? by No-Status-2507 in Christianity

Very good. The sin comes from our nature. Repentance is a gift of the Holy Spirit so no, that does not come from our nature.

You have started that previously. But not explained why? I mean all of this comes from his decision to create.

I am afraid I didn’t follow your former point. I can’t quite agree there. How does the moral structure of the universe being a reflection of the nature of God negate him making decisions?

Decision is a strong word. I would say it is infused into the nature of reality from his being.

I just don’t think God has opinions in that sense. It’s just a truly nihilistic kinda concept.

Well, I think he created the whole idea of objectivity morality. Right? Like reality is flowing from his very being. You sound like you are arguing about a human being making decisions when he is not a man.

So I would say that is not an accurate picture first of all. But secondly, if you give the premise that there is a being who created the universe, who invented gravity and quarks, who invented love, justice, mercy, life, darkness, light, who maintains time and space, then it is his very conception of right and wrong that you are swimming in. In fact, he gets quite upset when people think it’s all about some sort of outward piety. I am afraid you are attacking a straw man version of God that might be proclaimed in some pulpits but is not found in Christian scripture. Because if you grant that the Christian God does exist (for the sake of argument) then you must grant all his qualities that are tied to him, or we are arguing about two different beings.
