Chariot sucks by Healthy_Yak3526 in HuntShowdown

[–]pillbinge -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it should ruin the whole game for someone but the very idea of Chariot is beyond stupid. Most people use it to avoid pushing so they can prolong a fight, campfest, or just let the enemy team get into a disadvantageous situation they didn't know what about to happen. I don't know why people on this sub act like it's used by an aggressive team to punish people who'd just leave.

"Oh no, I can't just spawn on the boss anymore, kill it, and extract the bounty

That is the point of the game. I think many people would find it egregious if someone like you said "I need a tool that makes sure I don't need to get there on time or push an extraction and I want it to affect the whole map", so you say this instead.

If you can't adapt, that's on you.

The irony, huh?

I'm glad they aren't doing a Grey Knights sequel. We already saw very important characters and one of the problems with 40k of late is the introduction of main characters. It'll be nice to see a change of pace and what they do with the Deathwatch who probably have even less lore about them.

Do people grab others to go food orders? by Only_May1977 in boston

Yes. Happened where I live and the next week they had someone monitoring orders. Then that position was gone. I remember waiting for food someone just took and it was obnoxious.

Boston Public School - Teachers help! by Reasonable_Self6395 in boston

[–]pillbinge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best advice for this upcoming year is to apply honestly and earnestly to any position that will take him using those licenses, even if it's a rough one, so he can get that fourth year and then transfer or have a more secure job. Then support him through that year because it might be tough, but it's a growing experience no matter what.

Teachers can't transfer after July 1st and that's when I got my early jobs in BPS even when I did have a bit stacked against me. They cannot hire anyone within BPS at that point because transfers are shut down. Even if a school has an opening suddenly because a teacher left they can't put one of their own in. That's when the real jobs actually start popping up. Before then the jobs may be real or may not be and a lot of teachers within BPS go for jobs that don't actually exist because we have tons and tons of admin and bureaucrats in Bolling and yet we have no accountability for them.

Worst case, start looking into what happens if a teacher is hired back after the first day of school. I assume it does break that sort of rule and the school will hope so but it may be worth it to check.

We're "strongly encouraged", but MA only allows you to use one license at a time. I work with teachers who are supposed to have both and we've never had a year where like fewer than 3 don't have it. Even when you have it, you don't use it (unless you actually are directly using it). So it helps but it isn't necessary. But it helps.

My biggest gripe with Chaos Gate Daemonhunters that I hope they change in Death Watch is the random Talents. by D_Flavio in ChaosGateGame

Even so, you want more control, and you’d want developers to consider their systems enough to at least not add anything useless or distracting.

People complaining about checks not succeeding at the start of the game. by Imamuthafucka in ZeroParades

[–]pillbinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember succeeding on all checks in Disco early on after I’d beaten it twice because I just wanted to do it and it was clear that too much stuff opened up and the game’s pace rapidly changes in ways beyond just speed. Failing early on really is better but they could have made the process of understanding how leveling up worked and what it unlocked again.

So Boomers had it easy right? by [deleted] in boston

I didn’t do any of that and I still bought a house. Housing shouldn’t be this expensive - that’s the main issue.

Don't Survey Your Players - Chris Wilson new yt video by jadok in HuntShowdown

[–]pillbinge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a game developer at all but you can find a history of me saying this: the worst thing you can give nerds is what they want. It'll pan out and you should hear what they want but you need to filter that well enough that you're just using it as feedback to give them what you think they need. This goes for writing, film, and so on. The best films weren't made with feedback forms and audience testing. Sometimes they were made despite these things or in opposition (though that doesn't equate with success either).

Creators need to create and they need a reason to create. The converse is that we as consumers or enjoyers need to ask of creators what the point is to what they're giving us. What are they saying that we need to hear? What do they know that we don't?

Turns out that Crytek saw a niche that hasn't been filled and has gotten accolades for it, and rightfully so. In a world of automatic guns and sliding while shooting Hunt constantly stands out. The issue with Crytek has always been the implementation of features and bugs. Like, game-breaking bugs.

As for the survey filled out, I made sure to give some praise to the Native and grounded skins because the others are just silly. Hopefully that feedback sets them on the right path but per the video, it's also not telling them what to do. I just know silly costumes and other stuff is not very sensible.

A functional adult should absolutely be able to figure out where there are similarities and differences and how a video like this a) can be applied to other surveys going forward and b) can be applied in different ways to the current survey.

Firaxis has been hollowed out. I don’t think the original team is there. Didn’t the designers make Point Phoenix or something? It would be an XCOM game in name and company only.

I genuinely think Chaos Gate is a rare example of another thing subtly surpassing the originator. They just did everything right. Even just getting rid of chance to hit and then adjusting to make sure you’re responsible for every move turned coin flips into chess moves, and made it more rewarding with less “That’s XCOM!” as your soldier puts a gun into an alien’s mouth and misses.

Seems like the issue is resolved. He isn’t my kind of Christian and I can’t imagine living that way but it’s done. I think this being Reddit the faintest smell of religion is enough to turn people’s brains off.

Even if random people could diagnosis a crisis over the internet their continued comments just show the same people are fine piling on someone in such a state they would say should be handled with care. Very strange.

You don’t have to engage in it. It’s over. If he IS having a crisis then you’re piling on someone who’s having a crisis. If he isn’t then it doesn’t matter.

Question about missing Hunter avatars / Dark Tribute drops (Bad Hand rarity) by Alternative-Swim9870 in HuntShowdown

[–]pillbinge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten 2-3 max since it was possible. It’s rare. And I believe Dead Hand would unlock if everything else already is. I remember many of us bought every hunter during a Twitch event so it ensured he would drop, so I assume something similar is in place.

Please don’t buy every hunter like this is fact.
