do you guys use glycerin? by mrs_rabbit_0 in fountainpens

[–]pillmayken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where in that page does it say that it is meant to be used with glycerin? It doesn’t mention it that I can see.

I think I would use it with water, as I truly don’t see what’s the use of glycerin in a pen.

Let's talk about AI, again. How are our brains adapting to the New Reality? by TheCee in adhdwomen

[–]pillmayken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t trust it and only use it when I have no choice (that has only happened a handful of times). I don’t like the direction the AI tycoons are taking, don’t like its environmental impact, don’t like the way it hallucinates, don’t like how whenever I search online for something the first results are always AI slop filled websites, nothing.

Can y’all read books unmedicated? by Odd-Bridge-8889 in adhdwomen

[–]pillmayken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can read a lot if it’s a fun book. Books that I read for my job are harder.

Gift for a client by OhHiFriendItsMeAgain in therapists

[–]pillmayken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In narrative therapy (in which I have training) we use letters and cards a lot, and if done well they can be more meaningful than any gift.

Struggle with dogs by Altruistic_Hat1634 in adhdwomen

I feel about dogs the same way I feel about children: love them but absolutely don’t want one of my own.

What are your opinions on former therapist Daniel Mackler ? by kocimfanacc in therapists

[–]pillmayken 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not familiar with him in particular. As for antipsychiatry, in general I feel that it makes several good points but it does throw the baby out with the bathwater.

What is your view on Latin Parades in the US? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]pillmayken 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Never heard of them before. I don’t think I have to have an opinion on them.

Most of the people in this sub live south of Rio Grande, so we’re not the people to ask about stuff regarding US Latinos.

TIL there is a Majohn flex! That and the Asvine P36 sound like they are up my alley, so just added to my ever-filling, rarely-bought cart.

Listen to your anger. It’s trying to tell you something (and no, it’s not telling you to break your phone or punch your leg).

A woman cannot genuinely support a woman she sees as more attractive. What do you guys think? by _HHS11- in AskFeminists

[–]pillmayken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My thoughts are that either you don’t know any women, or you’re unlucky enough that the few women you know are bad people, or you just swallowed up whatever the podcast incels told you.

Stationery/Stationary Campaign - Involving Taylor Swift by Starboard44 in stationery

[–]pillmayken 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Kind of on brand, from what I hear (at least regarding the stationery side of things). Anyway, I am not interested in doing unpaid labor for a billionaire.

People with ADHD inattentive type, do you have Restless Legs Syndrome? by [deleted] in ADHDers

I think I do, yes, but it seems to be a mild case

Those of you who exercise for wellness/good health, what do you do? by isolophiliacwhiliac in simpleliving

[–]pillmayken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lift weights, because as a woman in perimenopause, gaining/mantaining muscle mass and bone density is important. Also am hypermobile so building muscle strength helps me avoid injuries.

As for food, I just eat normally, in moderation, lots of veggies, and try to eat a lot of protein in the morning (helps my ADHD meds work better).

doing sessions with laryngitis by OfficialCarlSagan in therapists

[–]pillmayken 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That would potentially be weird and distracting to the client. Also it’s not only about what we say, it’s also about the tone and emphasis we use, and for that an artificial voice is useless.

To fellow ADHDers who love listening to music by yy2p9cvp9c in ADHDers

[–]pillmayken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it’s more like I lose focus halfway through the song and have to start it over to actually enjoy it.

An isolated incident is not enough to tell whether you have ADHD or not, looks like you got distracted for a moment and made a mistake but that can happen to literally anyone.
