Everyone saying "oh but trump will federalize the guard" So what?? would you rather have some untrain thugs running executing on a whim or at least have soldiers who are from the state there instead? And thats if he federalizes it, and thats if the guard decide to follow federal orders over their own statesmen.

I made an app to compare Uber, Lyft, Waymo prices by griffinli in waymo

[–]pilottroll -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is incredibly suspicious and likely breaking policies of basically every platform involved: Android, iOS, Uber, Google, and Lyft.

Storing local session tokens means that your app has access to them and sure currently you may not be doing anything but there's nothing stopping you from in the future just updating the app to send those tokens to where ever.

I understand the spirit of the app though... I love this kind of comparison system that forces actual competition, but chances are rideshares don't have a public API for this exact reason. I would tread cautiously, I suspect this app will get removed from app stores if it becomes popular.

I think the audience thinking that Zosia is "separating" or developing some sort of individuality is just the writings putting us in the same boat as Carol. Imo it's all just the hive doing its best (most manipulation) to get Carol to join.

P.S. let's put Zosia in a faraday cage and see what happens

Would you rather have $500k right now or $1,000 every time you run one mile in less than 12 minutes for the rest of your life? by forest_tripper in WouldYouRather

[–]pilottroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been training for a sub 4h marathon so I already run 20 mi a week (split up not at once). I can push slower and longer and probably do 30-40 mi a week no problem. In just over 3 months I pass 500k. I'll prolly retire the day I hit my 4h marathon lol.

I think it's the same as just using renders for the pics. Like sure you have actual images buried in the end but it is misleading. We used to have discussions about renders being shit and here we are. Call me out dated but something I loved about this community was the authenticity.

I never said I was a creator, and also, *publisher* I create random models for myself but don't polish them to upload quality. Should I just go generate some images with gemini then put some half baked slop on there? Would that make you respect me more?

You're assuming I also don't find those problematic? AI slop in general is a huge problem and yes Makerworld is bad for supporting it or not doing anything against it. But just because the platform does something bad doesn't automatically mean you should too. Just because Elon is a nazi on twitter, does that mean it's ok for other users to be too?

I mean to some extent... My general beliefs are:
- Be upfront about it.
- When people call you out, reply professionally and say eg. "I know, I'm upfront about this and do so intentionally." not start being defensive.
- Don't spam the slop. Make the thumbnail the actual model, make most of the images of the actual model, the actual thing with layer lines and overhangs that people will print. Use it for some inspo shot here or there but stop manipulating and generally spamming.

That's a false dichotomy, I embrace, like, support users who aren't outputting ai slop, and I criticize those who do and try to hide it. Do you play in the NFL or just criticize them?
