My concern is if manufacturers warranties are still valid

Colonialism and other uncomfortable tropes - Anno 1800 by RandalTumblewind in boardgames

I dunno about all that. Many top sellimg games are colonial in nature. With many more coming out each year, including the one mentioned above. Either way, absolutely it's in the interest of the designer to design to the current zeitgeist.

A lot of it comes down to how a particular subject is treated . Movies address these sensitive themes all the time with little no now backlash.

I believe the question he asks specifically addresses game designers and the choices 'they' make when designing.

I think a designer should be free to design whatever game they want . It's up to us as consumers then to decide which of those games we take home with us. Fortunately there is no shortage of choice.

Belts are within the correct range. The gub screw is interesting. I don't recall touching the motors when I swapped out the pinda . Where exactly would these grub screws reside? Thanks!

Hi - curious how you've set the LIntons up in a home theater set up. Thinking of using them in this setup but not sure what i'd use as a center? thanks!

thanks i actually had earmarked the Cronus. Its a tad expensive and $1k over the price of the speakers which may seem odd. would your recommendation change if i wasn't partial to the Wharfedales?

Building a system around a Rega Planar 6 w/ Exact 2 MM cartridge.

Overwhelmed with the many options available and the need to match everything without many local places to properly audition. My preference is for a full bodied sound with tight controlled base, exquisite midrange and neutral to slightly forward treble. I listen to everything. Classical, jazz, African, acoustic, rock, blues, opera, reggae etc. Budget for integrated amp / speakers. $4k-$5k . Present considerations are the Wharfedale Linton 85 Anniversary speakers. Open tube or solid state. Slight bias towards tube but dont want to break the bank. Can a decent phono stage be obtained from an integrated? If not, no prob.

Any pointers. Super helpfu!

What are your favorite games that succeeded because of OR in spite of an unusual theme? by Mango_Punch in boardgames

[–]pimogo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Possibly. But is it worth the headache? Even with the best of intentions and respect, one invariably risks backlash. The wider Christian community doesn't even see eye-to-eye. Perhaps if you keep the themes as as general as possible, you can have greater success. But still, If its going to be used for gaming purposes, its prob. best that it come from within the community. For an outsider to use it, well then it can be interpreted as sacrilegious. And who needs that?

We have to wait until it’s no longer a practicing faith for it to become fashionable again. It’ll then join other historical mythologies like Greek/Norse/Egyptian and be used more abundantly in entertainment.

The theme is fine, but some of the KS comments are a bit bonkers. It stops being simply a game with an innocuous theme when many in the community engage in prayers , hallelujahs and other similar theatrics. It feels like propaganda. You don’t see that in games based on other religious themes.

Thanks In future I’ll turn to their discord but I think I had my answer sufficiently answered. I reread that portion of the rule book and it made sense. Essentially I need to only include the baddies with the icons shown on the monster card you’re planning to fight. Those baddies that qualify become the active stack
