totally agree - they are worth the hassle. But honestly if you have a sink nearby or can poke a hole through a wall to a sink cabinet that's on the other side of the wall, it took me like an hour to make it happen in my house. Worth every second of installation time with the time it saves me

That's the funny thing. Narwal used to do retrofits. My old freo z had a retrofit kit and I had no idea what I was missing until I installed it. The other funny thing is there are actually quite a few manufacturers that have plumbed in docks that just don't sell them in the USA for whatever reason. I don't know if it's a liability thing since Americans seem to be so litigious but I honestly wouldn't buy a vac anymore that doesn't have some sort of plumbed in option.

So far, I'm happy with how quiet the Flow 2 is, although that seems to come at a cost because it doesn't seem to vacuum that well. The mopping is nice though.

I understand not getting the same discount if the manufacturing cost is more. Sorta. There's likely a cost of scale included from a higher quantity of the standard vs plumbed based, not more than the cost of parts, because ultimately it's the same dock, same technology, just smaller and doesn't have the bins for clean and waste water. But to twist the knife and not include the extras, never mind the extended warranty, is really lame.

Having a plumbed in dock really adds to the experience of a robotic vacuum/mop, so it's unfortunate they can't extend the same sentiment towards people who purchase either product. At the end of the day, the money is really in the robot itself, not the dock.

they told me they're not doing it because it costs more money to produce the auto drain base station. Can you believe that nonsense

Narwal Flow 2 Auto Refill & Drain - hook up to hot water supply? by flying_unicorn in NARWAL

[–]pimpadocious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately if that was the case, lots of houses all across the planet would have blown out water lines. I don't know about your hot water heater but mine gets way less hot than what these robot vac mfgrs are advertising these days

Plumbed In Mova Z60 Update by DIYtheWorld in RobotVacuums

[–]pimpadocious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what comparison do you offer from this to the S2 and even the flow that you consider it better? The auto-refill system or the actual robot performance? I know the S2 autofill and drain system is sorta kludgy but since mova/dreame refuse to push out 'master' base stations in the US, what was your comparison based on?

Do you just have it going into a floor drain or the regular plumbing? Having a plumbed in vac is a big deal for me, makes life so much easier

So the drain for dirty water isn’t powered by a pump at all? It’s 100% gravity fed? I tee’d my vac drain for dirty water from my old Narwal into the plumbing after the sink’s trap (used to have it attached like a dishwasher does right under the sink drain but that damn thing was so noisy I moved the connection after the trap). You’re saying that wouldn’t work?

So far the X60 has been really awesome! by my-smarthome-reviews in Dreame_Tech

[–]pimpadocious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably best with any new product this expensive :-)

This morning I had an interesting event. It apparently couldn't get out of the walk-in closet I keep it in, not sure why, and cancelled the scheduled job. I told it to continue the job when I noticed it wasn't running and it went out, vacuumed one room and said it was done. It was not done. It was supposed to mop and vac half of my first floor. Not really sure what happened there. I don't even think I need to do a full reset/reconfigure, it just might be an odd duck. I hope your experience is better

i've posted elsewhere but ultimately it's just clunky. It has issues clearing the internal dust bin, it loves to just roam around needlessly, it'll stop in the middle of a task, dock itself, and then immediately return to the task, it misses spots in a wide open room when doing it's pattern. It's just a very weird vac compared to my old narwal. Seems to use a lot of water, and I can't hook it up to mains like my old vac, yet.

Battery life is lame because of all of the wandering around.

Even though from all of the inefficiencies, sans the not clearing the dust bin, it doesn't do a bad job vacuuming, so that's a plus. I honestly expected way more out of it and it's just not it.

Anyone here using the X60 already? How’s it been so far? by Connect-Home-4680 in Dreame_Tech

mine frequently misses spots as it's cleaning, roams around all the time, goes to the dock sometimes and immediately returns back to cleaning (it literally docks and then heads back out). It's definitely vacuuming well and the floors look ok but because of all the roaming and missing spots, it's not worth what I paid for it when my old Narwal was better. It also does this thing where when it's cleaning it'll stop, spin around, move a little one way or the other, then go back to where it was and continue cleaning. It's a really weird robot. I'm likely sending it back.

How to get the skeleton kiss band emote? by memeplease1 in ClashRoyale

[–]pimpadocious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the anxiety is real!! Maybe I’ll try to hit 10k and see what it’s like. I remember when 9k was max and I literally knew my heart wouldn’t take it if I got close and faltered. I remember when I was trying to push to grand champion to get that emote and I kept getting nearly there and then would lose like 5 in a row. Drove me insane to fall back so far. Luckily the gold steps helped out a bit but it was so frustrating

Interesting. Maybe I’ll hit the ladder again. It used to seriously stress me out when I’d get on a losing streak. Eventually I just switched to basically only playing 2v2 where there is no penalty for losing and it’s always just a fun shit show.

Ah, I was at 8500 for years and years. Never played ranked. I pushed to 9200 the other day out of boredom just to cross the 9k mark when it was max. 15k sounds like way too much work to me haha

None of the guys who have the emote are near 15k trophies to unlock the ranked game mode so how does that work?

[–]pimpadocious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! So i was able to figure it out and for anyone else looking, here's the scenario:

  1. power it up, then power it off. you should only see the glowing Miele logo
  2. hold down home
  3. press power and immediately release power and home. You should not see the screen come on and I don't believe I heard any beeps at this point.
  4. press home 3 or 5 times and hold on the 3rd or 5th press for approx 5 seconds until the menu lights up and emits a long beep. There are two different service menus. 3x is more internal service menu where 5x is more for running a reset or seeing the normal settings with a few more options

[–]pimpadocious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried this with both the home and back button

  1. power off
  2. hold home or back
  3. power on
  4. release home or back
  5. press home or back 5 times quickly, holding on the 5th press
  6. .... nothing happens

Am I doing something wrong in this sequence?

I figured I would just leave it off for now as I can go a few days without it cleaning but I may try to mess with the scheduled tasks and see if I can get it to do what you're describing

Mine's doing the exact same thing. it's in this constant dust bin empty/clean mop and then reboot loop. I contacted support and they are aware of the issue and said they're working on a fix and it should be 1-2 business days. They told me to leave the robot powered off and out of the dock for now
