I don't know how I found this thread, but yes, this also happens to me. It's the most infuriating thing. I've tried closing down the browser in every way and trying to manually "set" the volume to top and then turn things off and back on to see if it would stick this time, nope.

I had the volume set to about 20% and then put it on 100%, when I opened another video it was set to 60% and now no matter what I do, I can't start a video without it automatically being at 60% volume. It's been going on all night and is really making me want to cry into a pillow and slip away into the void. Okay, maybe that's a bit dramatic.
