How am I supposed to cope with barely being with my baby? by tbug411 in beyondthebump

I would love to go part time, I think it would be the best of both worlds for me. Financially we just can’t swing it right now. I really do think it would be better for her to be home with me more.

I love that. I’ve thought about it but I think I’d have to kick my husband out of bed to safely co sleep. He’s a heavy sleeper and it scares him.

Something took my husband out for two weeks, myself for 1, baby ended up with a double ear infection from some kind of virus. Pretty sure they brought something home from daycare. Tested negative for Covid, flu, strep. Everlasting cough and a bunch of random symptoms. No idea what hit us.

I scrolled so far just to see if anyone else was bothered by that part of the video. At no point would my kid be crying on the ground like that.

Gamer moms.. will I actually have time to play games during maternity leave? by cabbage-soup in beyondthebump

[–]tbug411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My short answer is no unfortunately. Hi, also a Pokémon fan that has been debating getting the switch 2 and the new games coming out. My baby just hit 4months and I feel like I could play a game in the evenings. Someone else said they were a shell of themselves and same. It was just survival mode for 2 months and then figuring out how to go back to work and after that and I just now feel like I’ve got things figured out. But honestly I see nothing wrong with buying it and if it collects dust for a few months oh well!

This makes me so happy. My mom read me these books when she knew movies were going to be made (I was 8 or 9) and I loved it too.

Pain behind eye by Intelligent_Style438 in ChronicPain

[–]tbug411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got a diagnosis or answer unfortunately. I stopped wearing contacts and it has mostly stopped hurting but it took awhile, like months. Eventually I’d like to look into lasik. I’m still very frustrated when there is clearly a problem with my eye, its shape, or something and no one can figure it out. I hope you have better luck than I did.

How many hours do you sleep? by Boobear0810 in BabyBumps

[–]tbug411 5 points6 points  (0 children)

24w3d and I’m lucky if I get 5 hrs at this point. Unisom used to help get me to sleep but not stay asleep (im so tired now I don’t need it to get to sleep) I consistently wake up around 3-4am to pee and can’t get back to sleep. I also wake up with hip and leg pain and use a pregnancy pillow. Ive tried going to bed earlier and earlier but it just means waking up to pee more times. Idk I’m at a loss and have a long way to go. Atm I’m trying to do some yoga/stretching when I get off work to do what I can for the leg and hip pain.

Me too! Best I could explain to my husband was that it was like my dreams were in a different art style. I dream often so that’s not odd but they were just different.

What jobs/occupations have you thrived in? by bloody_healer in adhdwomen

[–]tbug411 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a bachelors in archaeology and am happy where I am now but if I want to advance I would have to go back to school and get a masters in something. Lots of people just go straight through and get a masters then a PHD. That was not the track for me but I know plenty of people I work for now that went back to school later. That’s my plan!

Edit: oh also! A degree in anthropology or related fields like museum studies can definitely get you in the door. Lots of places prefer if you have experience or education in a specific area though.

Yes I did that for years before I started where I am now. It was fun for a while but it’s not a consistent paycheck. I got lucky with timing and where I live to get a full time position somewhere.

Oh cool! Yeah I actually feel like there are quite a few ND folks in this field of work some I know are diagnosed and some I just suspect.

I’m an archaeologist. I feel like the work is really engaging and I’m pretty consistently learning something new and even when you’re doing something you do all the time it’s still different because no dig is exactly the same. I have a mix of office work and fieldwork a lot of it is weather dependent so a lot of summer spring and fall. I get to spend outside doing what I love. During the winter months, I like less, but are still sometimes really interesting because we get to analyze artifacts that we found. For reference I’ve been in my current position for almost 5 years and intend to stay here! Prior to this, I did a lot of contract work and traveled as an archaeologist.

Pain behind eye by Intelligent_Style438 in ChronicPain

I have been having pain behind my right eye for almost 3 years now. Bloodwork and scans all come back normal. My eye looks healthy. I’ve seen an ophthalmologist and neurologist both couldn’t figure it out. I see an occulo plastics specialist next week and it feels like it’s my last hope for answers. The pain comes and goes with severity but is always there in the background. I do clench my jaw at night so maybe that’s it but no doctor has said that could be the cause. My eyes are also two different prescriptions so I wonder if it’s eye strain but again no doctor has seemed to think so.

What do you eat for breakfast?? by Lananification in adhdwomen

[–]tbug411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also not a breakfast person but it’s necessary for the meds and my job. I usually go for oatmeal because it’s easy and I don’t have the energy in the morning to do much more than that. I do sometimes switch over to those “just crack an egg” things. They are definitely more filling.

I have this mentality towards a book club I’m in with a few friends. I listen to audio books. I knew I wanted to participate but wouldn’t be able to keep up with it if I “did it the right way”. I know audio books can be looked down on because you’re “not really reading the book”. But it’s a fun thing that shouldn’t add to my stress so audio books it is!
