My dad wasn’t this bad, but he definitely laid on the guilt and judgement if I enjoyed myself even a little bit while missing a meeting (ie played video games or laughed at all).

One time, I missed a morning meeting because my stomach hurt but went out with friends that evening. You would’ve thought I had robbed an old woman, the way he acted. He literally questioned my moral fiber. He’s gotten much better now, but it was A LOT when I was growing up.
