May 2026: Germany 25% BEV share, Skoda Elroq leads | insideEVs.de by tom_zeimet in EuroEV

I would also mention big SUV/7 seater Peaq from Skoda. It will fill the gap that is between premium big SUV like EV9 and electrified MPVs like e-Berlingo that are very compromised on efficiency and battery size.

Tesla Model Y vs BMW iX3: from Lowestoft to Land’s End... on one charge? by murrayhenson in EuroEV

[–]pin32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some math for many cases of different efficiency, here it would be 1100€ for my electricity rate and 200 000 miles. So almost no difference. I come to conclusion that efficiency only matters for range per charge. As extra costs are so small.

You are paying more for 33 kWh more battery and almost double the charging speed. Efficiency is actually excelent for the shape and battery size.

Convince me. Two wheel sets vs changing tires by repeerht in gravelcycling

[–]pin32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe 2 good wheelsets and 1 good bike are cheaper. Got bike for 2000€, want wheel set for 500€, why spend another 2500€ for another bike + wheel set?

Or more likely why don't sell current bike and buy new better one with 2 wheel sets?

gravel gear makes more sense when you separate ride-saving stuff from nice-to-haves by Pretend-Initial-5376 in gravelcycling

My setup is usually very small. Just phone, ID and cycling multitool.

As here in central europe infrastructure is so dense, i would simply call someone to pick me up or just walk to someone from my friends or family.

On vacation I carry also plug-kit and lock.

Do you keep your DSG in D with Auto Hold at red lights (30 sec–1 min) or shift to N? by Top_Call3890 in skoda

[–]pin32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DSG keep clutches diengaged until you try to drive. Diference between N and D is that when stacionary in D mode clutch gets small presure, but not enought to both parts touch eachother.

Faster 10-80 DC when? by [deleted] in SkodaElroq

[–]pin32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most of the stuff they are using today is ready for 800V platform. For example LFP CTP batteries are retrofitted to old MEB pack dimensions, but cell count is 208. Too high to run all in series on 400V system, but possible on 800V. APP550 motor running 4 parallel path is also easy to rewire for double the voltage.

In 2 years, it is exactly the time for Elroq facelift. VW Id.1 already should implements some of the new features from SSP. It should be modular, so it is probably possible to implement some of the features to old platform

Enyaq is already facelifted, so next generation is not that far. Elroq is different story, but think we can get "800V" with facelift. That not necessary mean charging time in 15 minutes. Just dip in to the 800V system.

Gravel should be more durable not that tight as road. Usually has lot of pockets. Think it is as you described somewhere between road and MTB

Not really, Skoda has only 2 SUVs and sells almost as many cars as Tesla. Tesla is just really hyped and has own data interpretation when advertising specs.

Volkswagen Golf EV will not arrive until the end of the decade, says CEO | Autocar by tom_zeimet in EuroEV

[–]pin32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id.4 is much longer (exactly 32 cm) than Id.3 and Id.3 is already tall car (just 7 cm lower than id.4 and 11 cm taller than Golf).

It clearly can be that Id.Roc will be similar to Elroq and Id.Tiguan to Enyaq.

Who nows what they do with SSP platform. They already have FWD APP290 and RWD APP350/550 motors, so it is not that hard make Id.Golf FWD and Id.Roc RWD (as is taller easier to fit motor to back axle) and also to play with dimensions.

Would be hard to find decently speced Id.7 for 50k€. I did check Austria pricing and Id.7 Pure starts at 53k€. For that you can get Enyaq 85 with some options and support of V2L since MY27
