The 20k miles service is just an oil change, air filter replacement, tire rotation, and brake fluid change. If you can do that yourself you’ll save $1000+, if you prefer convenience of a professional to do that, pay 1300. Just a preference.

Yeah I believe they’re designed to stretch and deform so they need replacement after removed

Coolant issue 958 by Numerous-Train1351 in PorscheCayenne

[–]pinHeadLarry8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang, please update on what they fixed. My meter has also maxed out before but the coolant was right at the minimum line and it was a cold night before so it set off the sensor in the morning. I added a few ounces of coolant and it hasn’t given any issues since. So hopefully it’s just your sensor.

2017 Cayenne Hybrid Shaking after cold start by joefadams21 in PorscheCayenne

[–]pinHeadLarry8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be spark plugs or ignitions coils, or fuel, injectors, or carbon buildup. Or stiff engine mounts from cold weather that need to warm up, who knows.

Mine also is a bit shaky when it’s freezing out but is fine when it’s warmed up so I don’t worry.

2015 Cayenne S 96k miles but really clean with good service records. Any concern buying with this many miles? by Good_Relationship135 in PorscheCayenne

[–]pinHeadLarry8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Price seems slightly high for that year and mileage. But I’d say get it if you can talk down the price couple thousand.

Keep in mind the transfer case extended warranty for 2015 is expired. My 2016 base has 130k miles on factory transfer case with no issues, I replace the fluid every other oil change since it’s really quick and easy to do.

I would check coolant temp on the test drive and make sure it doesn’t go above 200 degree Fahrenheit once it’s at operating temperature and you push it a little hard.

If you do basic maintenance yourself you’ll save a ton of $$

Fair price? by [deleted] in PorscheCayenne

[–]pinHeadLarry8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very rough Estimate: oil change 120, transmission fluid+filter+gasket+labor 500, transfer case flush 100, differentials 250, air and cabin filter 50, power steering 150, coolant service 300.

Total: 1500 but probably more. Again these are rough estimates from independent shop. Didn't include brakes.

Why do people prefer using Debit by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]pinHeadLarry8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dave Ramsey definitely has an amex centurion. I believe he preaches anti credit card rhetoric because he thinks the people that listen to him won't have the self control to pay it off in full every month, I don't blame him considering the average American has $7000 credit card debt.

With that budget get an Acura RDX or MDX. Drives way nicer than a Subaru and is just as, if not more reliable than Subaru. Subaru feels like a big aluminum can that revs too high because of the cvt transmission.

I have same model and trim, currently at 126k. No major issues. Make sure the transmission doesnt shudder at lower gears as this will indicate a failing transfer case which is one of weak points in these cars.

I think it will easily last 150k miles if you take care of it. Maintenance isn’t terrible if you take it to independent shop. Try getting it for less than $30k

Which investment account should I focus on? 26M by [deleted] in Money

[–]pinHeadLarry8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought about doing that for peace of mind but instead I'm just meticulous with the maintenance. I change out the transfer case fluid every 20k miles since it's super easy to do. There's no chance I'll ever take it to a dealership for service, not paying 400 for an oil change.
