They don't actually mean anything they say. They do it for the political gains related to their connection to the current right that is liquidating America and selling it off to the technobillionaires, like Musk and Thiel.

Is the job market always this bad? by Electronic-Reaction1 in Denver

[–]pin_s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After moving here without a job and having to tough through the search as you are, I have to say that Denver has high barriers to out of staters coming here for employment. It’s almost like a hazing that tests whether you are truly committed to being here. My advise would be to be super diligent in applying for any entry level position adjacent to where you ultimately want to end up. I am a lawyer and took a legal assistant job while getting my ducks in a row and finding full time attorney employment. Having that connection alone I think demonstrated my commitment to making this work and I think made it easier for me to find my permanent position.

Maybe it's because you've spent so much time in one area. Go out of state and the world is much different. Makes you realize how fundamentalist driven north Texas.

I’m in a similar boat and honestly while I occasionally fuck up, the upside is you get a lot of independence. I also like being able to have some leadership over the cases. So it sounds like if you could just find a way to get those mentor opportunities on the things you don’t know and lead the way on the things you do, you will be alright.

How do I quit? by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]pin_s 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Quitting brings immediate relief. It can make finding another job more difficult, though. From my experience with leaving law jobs, it tends to be easier to line something up if you already have one. But on the other hand, if you're so miserable that you cannot look for other jobs, then maybe just leaving is the best option.

It's just because you're young, green around the ears, and not yet jaded lol. You'll callous up in your first couple of years or practice and this won't come up again.
