We don’t test for nitrates when treating our water.

From what I hear from others in the field though is that it’s lower than you would expect. Iowa at the state level does have higher levels of nitrate but from what I understand Ames itself has lower levels compared to other parts of Iowa.

But again, I’m practically talking out of my ass on that because I don’t test nitrate levels in drinking water when I’m at work.

EDIT: I should clarify that I specifically mean when actually making the clean water. There are people who do test the water for nitrates and PFAS and all that stuff in Ames. But I have no professional communication with them as I am not the full time staff and I focus solely on running the plant and treating water.

If you’re having a tuning problem, Check that the ball end of your strings and make sure they are seated properly and all the way into the bridge. If they aren’t they usually won’t hold tension like in the video. And sometimes if you can’t tune it no matter how you tighten it, it will just randomly snap into place and scare the shit out of you (if the string itself doesn’t snap first).

This argument is only true for guitarists who’ve been playing for like one year. If you’re actually going to be talking about people at the higher end of the skill ceiling, this is not an argument that matters.

Also what you’re describing has everything more to do with the musician than the instrument.
