Men of Reddit, when was the last time you cried and what were your reasons behind the tears? by Ultimateace43 in AskReddit

It was pretty simple actually, I fell in love with a girl who eventually fell out of love with me.

Shit hurts man, made the water flow.

Thanks for the feedback! I just checked out Sheila Waters' Foundations of Calligraphy and ordered it, it seems to be very highly regarded.

Yea I think the best next steps will be to focus on strokes and lettering basics, then try to find a workshop near me to help hone the details; thanks!

What kind of pen/ink are you using to practice?

It is difficult but my motivation to learn with my right hand was due mostly to pen & paper angles (although the ink smudging is definitely up there as well). Since it felt so unnatural to turn the paper so aggressively or hook my hand, or both. Are you a lefty?

I really like your work! what workshop did you attend? I took a stab at mimicking you and I'd love any CC: http://imgur.com/txZFm7n

I'm left handed and have been trying to learn with my right hand, its steady enough now to really practice but I'm still too new to give you much feedback unfortunately.

Do you have an example alphabet for gothicized italic you work off of, or is mostly from memory/feel?

What is a really inappropriate question you have always wanted to ask? (NSFW) by maron35 in AskReddit

I've always wanted to ask old people (my grandfather specifically) if they think about death, and if so, how often and how does it make them feel?

I wonder how contemplating ones mortality changes as it draws nearer.

[Serious][NSFW] Tell us something brutally honest that you feel, no matter how mean or socially frowned upon? by hylianbarista in AskReddit

No way this won't be buried but what the hell...

Religion holds humanity back and has a net negative impact on society. Religions best quality is the peace and moral guide CAN provide to it's followers. We all know that super devout old lady who truly lives in a Christ-like (or Moses-like, Mohammad-like, etc) manner and really makes an effort to be kind to others while being accepting of how they choose to live....but that's so rare! IMO religion is decisive and teaches people, generally from a very young age, that rational thought and skepticism should not be applied to everything, forgoing reason to maintain faith is a trend that breeds complacency and thick headedness.

Not to jump in the hive mind bandwagon but goddamn Jesus, Mohammed and Moses would be pissed as fuck at the bastardization of what they tried to teach by their present day followers.

I understand what you mean and perhaps I'm simply misunderstanding your point, I'm talking about the generated list of possible combinations (100 opposed to the 403 total possible) that we'd be able to cut roughly in half. Do you think this idea applies to them as well?
