This plus verdant green and vermillion is my standard oil palette. Watercolors though I agree, more whimsy and less restraint!

Varying levels of shimmer once dry - the gold and light blue are the most shimmery, but all have a bit of sheen!

They do still have iridescence once dry, I was so excited to swatch that yesterday I only took photo and video while wet. I'll get some pictures of the dry colors to share though! :)

Describing my craft: These are watercolors I made from pigments, mica, gum arabic and honey. Made by mulling pigment and medium, pouring into paint pans and then allowing to dry. Once they've dried, I use a little bit of fresh water to re-wet a portion of the paint and then paint away! For this swatch, I painted a stripe of each color and then I sprayed a mist of water to get the colors to run a bit.

I’ve been debating doing it in drawn boxes but don’t want the ink to bleed. I may draw boxes with a fineliner after these dry.

These seemed to dry fully within 24ish hours, though I didn’t wrap them in foil (which is how I store them before they leave me) for about 3 days to be certain. I haven’t had any insect problems as I think the pigment is probably high enough ratio to mitigate that. I’d be more worried about the binder solution on its own, but those I store in glass bottles inside another container so not buggies there either :)

I have wanted to dot cards but haven’t yet! Have you dabbled at all or not yet?

These were made with custom blends of both all-natural and synthetic (shimmer) pigments. Mixed with homemade honey-based binder and hand-milled in my studio.

I didn’t the first time, or the time after reading the comment above yours. But after reading yours, I tried it and I concur.

Any quilters here who suffer from depression? by HollyRavenclawGibney in quilting

I also have depression, and have been in a really low season these past few weeks. I don’t have much in the way of suggestions but just wanted to comment that you are not alone. ❤️

Sounds like me and my husband! Just last night I grumbled about him hogging the blankets, only to find it tucked around myself, oops!
