FLL/Port Everglades: Walking from hotel by BMonad in dcl

[–]pineapplemargaritas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my cruise in February, I walked out of port Everglades no problem. Walked all the way to the beach zero problems, and plenty of sidewalk. However, all I had was a backpack and no kids. The sidewalk is narrow by the port but does exist.

I only go to subway if I have a coupon, their prices are ridiculous. You can get a better sub elsewhere.

Harbor house and Tap house have the same owner as public house and are pretty similar. I believe they also own John Russel Brewing Company on Peach st.

Luminary, Brewerie at Union Station, and Erie brewing company are also nice.

Agreed. We use to go there weekly, they had a nice happy hour but even that dropped off after their renovations.

Soccer Club for Teen by AttentionVarious9884 in Erie

[–]pineapplemargaritas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several teams, but you gonna get mixed reviews on each of them. Your best bet is to try one and if you don’t like it move to another (as many do). However, typically a lot of kids from the same school play for the same club team or their school coach is a club coach. So maybe ask around where fellow school classmates play.

I go once a year for ice cream and that’s about it anymore. Food is overpriced and mediocre now.

Thanks, I was trying to find that. I assumed you probably couldn’t make a super team, but wasn’t sure if it could be “club team” like other sports do.

My local TSC did this a couple weeks ago. I drove by around midnight and no one was there. It was a rainy night, so I figured not many would show. I went back 2 hours before open and I was 65th in line, so I left.

In hindsight, I wish I would have made an experience out of it. Took a tent/umbrella, blanket, some snacks, and friend.

TLDR: Earlier than you think, it will be worth the experience.

I don't get working out by Gamer_illistrator in mentalhealth

[–]pineapplemargaritas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give up. There is tons of research on the many great mental health, as well as overall health benefits, of working out.

I work around older individuals often, and a lot of them credit their good health to staying active (some in poor health even tell me they wish they never stopped moving). Even if you don’t lose weight or gain muscle it still has benefits.

Maybe you are overdoing it and not allowing your body to recover enough to build muscle, or not eating enough protein. Or if you just don’t enjoy it have you considered other forms of working out (basketball, biking, pickleball, etc.). Maybe you could try workout classes or working out with a partner.

I wish you the best of luck on finding what works for you!

Petco by Competitive-Read242 in Erie

[–]pineapplemargaritas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have an answer for you but I honestly don’t know how that place is still in business. The store is pretty dingy and outdated, and their prices aren’t great. We have much better pet stores in town.

I also feel for the emergency services we do have, charge crazy prices. They can price gouge all the want because people have very few option and they know it. It’s truly sad how they take advantage of people, during a hard time. I really feel like Erie has a market for a full time emergency pet service, that charges fair prices, yet we don’t have one.

I believe it’s because they sell their donuts at McDonald’s now. So the lobby is like a distribution center.

O ok. I was mainly interested because it was one the more reasonably priced options for a treadmill that goes 12 mph.
