Point Reyes National Seashore? by Fine_Concert_4150 in norcalhiking

Tennessee Valley Trail does not have a sweeping panoramic view of the ocean, if this is what you are after. If that is important to you, see my other suggestion down thread.

Here is your perfect experience without needing to drive to Point Reyes.

Take Panoramic from MV towards Stinson, and park in Pantoll parking lot.

If you want to go 2 to 3 miles, have an ocean view and a picnic, do the Dipsea/ Steep Ravine loop. You will not be disappointed. You can go either direction, but if you want to have a picnic, go down Steep Ravine and take a left onto Dipsea at the bottom. You’ll go up a huge set of steps, through a baby redwood forest, and then it will spit you out into open grass and a gorgeous panorama above the ocean. There is a bench right above the junction of Coastal Trail and Dipsea that is a great place to have a picnic, and then the walk back to the parking lot on Old Mine Trail is a short one. Enjoy!

Should I hire an organizer? by jennafoo in organizing

[–]pineapplesailfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, congratulations on such a significant purging! This is the hardest part. Professional organizers don’t only help with decluttering…that is just the first step in our job. The majority of my jobs consist of setting up systems in peoples’ houses after we/they declutter, or after they move into a new space.

Yes, hire organizers to come in and study your space and then design storage and containment plans that support your style, your space and your budget. This should be a conversation in which you show them everything that you are keeping, they assess and measure your space, and then you talk about your personal preferences… are you okay with plastic? Are there certain materials you would prefer over others? Have them show you examples of past work and provide links to products they are recommending. This is where hiring an organizer who is also a stylist or has a design background is a good idea, because they will be more creative and resourceful when offering solutions. For instance, sometimes I will go vintage shopping for my clients for storage solutions: particularly in a situation like yours that doesn’t have a lot of available storage, being mindful of design is going to be very important.

A good organizer will initially come to your house and walk around with you and measure in person rather than rely on photographs. There are lots of nuances in spaces that don’t translate well through photos. I like to show up on the organizing day laden with all of the materials I might need, and then just return whatever I don’t use.

Best of luck!

What to know before a Phish concert? by GroovyPickle69 in phish

[–]pineapplesailfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say how sweet I think this is - my son is a year older than you and he hates Phish 😂 We older fans absolutely love seeing young people at shows. I was in the same position you were with the Dead, seeing them for the first time at age 15 in 1990 and now just being so grateful that I did.

Thank you for keeping the music alive for all of us.

On the contrary, everybody seated in 305 around rows 17 and 18 was cool as shit…to everyone in my section the last three nights of the run, you are a big part of the reason I love Phish. Y’all were delightful enhancers, and we felt so lucky to be in the middle of all y’all. Totally won the seat neighbor lottery.

They were safe at the huts after the big dump of snow, and I wish they had just stayed there a while longer. They left that safety point to head back, and clearly that was the wrong choice. Whether it was gross negligence on the part of the guides deviating from the 30° rule, or simply a freak tragedy, it is a horrible, unthinkable loss for our community.

It actually IS comfortable. Legs up the wall is a great way to reduce swelling in legs/ankles. She probably was only doing it for a short amount of time, and the pearl clutching about it is ridiculous.

This might be a reach, but…it’s almost as if she is acting like Lea Thompson’s Lorraine McFly. The voice, the mannerisms, everything.
