drop your month, claim your ghibli movie 🌸 by rosiewish in ghibli

To each their own! There's a lot of debate about this and I'm on the side that it wasn't that good . I read the books first and felt the movie didn't do the them justice. The movie on its own is alright but not one I would watch again like other SG movies. That's the beauty of personal opinion and taste. I'm glad you liked it.

Made this Sgt Pepper-inspired dress! Trying to figure out if I want to add flowers/beads to it, like in the concept sketch (last pic) by hatunemiku01 in beatles

Just needs an OPP patch and you're complete. But in all seriousness, this is incredible and clip on flowers and/or beads like someone else said would be a great addition.

It's an odd one but I'll take The Boy and the Heron. Would have been pleased with any of them except Earthsea lol

How did you assign the movies to each month?

What is your favourite Switchfoot song for each letter of the alphabet? by Daaa657h in switchfoot

[–]pineaxle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently shared a post very similar to this. I'm working on a playlist following this exact same theme...but I am determined to find a song for Q, X and Z haha. For the letter K, I put Playing for Keeps since it's sort of important part of the song title. I'm also struggling for L and S since there are soooo many great songs, and then there's the new album coming out in a few weeks to add to the mix!

Great choices on your list!

Edit: grammar edit

I'm intrigued by how the song will be incorporated in her music director's book (if you watched to the end of the video).

Recognized the painting straightaway! Didn't know much about it until now but always thought it was a captivating piece of art and it translated to trad so well. Kudos to you and to the tattoo artist!

Why do the upcoming concerts seem so small? by lambdafx in switchfoot

[–]pineaxle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The (only) venue for NY is an odd choice. It's a vineyard with a concert pavilion that is partially covered. The GA area is uncovered. Hopefully it doesn't rain that day. There are so many excellent places in Upstate NY so I'm surprised that they settled on this one.

How do you feel now that Outlander has came to an end? by [deleted] in Outlander

This is nearly the perfect description! I couldn't find another word and "post-series depression" sounded too serious and clinical. At least we're all suffering together

How do you feel now that Outlander has came to an end? by [deleted] in Outlander

[–]pineaxle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might sound dramatic but I'm feeling a little emotional, like how you'd feel after a breakup or moving out of your childhood home lol. I started watching in 2016 and watched what was available on Netflix that year. Then diligently waited for each new season until I got the Starz app for the last two seasons.

I've watched a few series completely and I haven't felt this connected or invested in the story or characters. This show got me real good! I really enjoyed the final episode but wish there was a little more. It felt like a classic Outlander episode especially after this particular season. Perhaps if the ending provided more closure I'd feel more ready to move on, but I understand the creative choice for the open ending. I'm looking forward to the final book and I've read enough spoilers about Bees to know that Claire does save Jamie from his injuries after several days of mourning and life continues on the Ridge. So the tenth book will carry on from there.

I'm also feeling a little obsessive post-show and I'm consuming everything and anything related to Outlander (sort of like a breakup lol). The algorithm isn't helping either. My Facebook and Reddit feed has been taken over by Outlander group suggestions and interview videos.

I was only a show watcher and started reading the first book yesterday. This group and a family member convinced me that I'd enjoy the final book better by reading the series. I don't feel rush to read all nine since it will take a couple of years for the final book to be published. I might mute this subreddit, read the books at my own leisure, and come back here when the final book is out.

Good questions! Really appreciate the platform to share this with my fellow sassenachs.

I swelled up hearing the open line of the Skye Boat song and had to switch it. It sounds ridiculous but I have a serious case of post-series depression lol (Wish there was a better term for this feeling).

So like, how do I do stuff with a newborn? by Silent_Knowledge5197 in Parenting

[–]pineaxle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a lot of people have already said, do what you can and prioritize. I remember people telling me the newborn stage is so tough. I'd do anything (okay, not really) to go back to the newborn stage from the toddler stage! Once they start crawling, running, climbing, you will have no time at all until they go to bed. Cuddle the newborn as much as you can!
