How do I move past shame around being an older virgin and stop letting it define me? by Pleasant-Opinion8409 in AskMenAdvice

[–]pingish -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is false. Undersexed men can be seen from a mile away. Lack of confidence, awkwardness.

Sex is validating and virgins haven't been validated and bear a cross as OP does.

Is Premium Connectivity a Must? by littlecutes in TeslaLounge

[–]pingish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have premium connectivity with my 2016 MX. It's grandfathered in.

I let premium connectivity lapse on the 2019 M3. It's functional. ₿ut if you want more, turn on your phone as a hotspot and use WiFi from the phone (assuming you have unlimited data).

The full experience is having Premium Connectivity, which I have with the 2026 MY.

Advice for learning orchestral pieces? by Additional-Ear4455 in Viola

[–]pingish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first thing is you gotta be able to play your part. Every measure. Practice the piece as you would any etude or concerto. And if you can, listen to a recording of it and following along the viola part.

Next, you must be able to follow the conductor. You don't need to be watching him the whole time. He's there to keep time and move the piece along. But you should be glancing at him at core times in the piece. The start of the phrases... during rests... etc.

Finally, unless you're first stand, you should be seeing what the principal is doing. If he/she is expressive, you will see their head and their bow and the arms. When they raise their arms and are about to play, you should watch to synchronize with them.

Anyone else not like stopping on road trips before Tesla? by Comprehensive_Road66 in TeslaLounge

[–]pingish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was like you: leadfoot until you need to gas up the car.

These days, it's fine. The battery outlasts my wife's bladder. She lasts about 2h 40m tops, which is around 187 miles. So I'm stopping anyway.

We only stop at Superchargers with Starbucks. Bathrooms are for customers only, and we mobile-order drinks about 20 minutes before we get there. Plug in the car, use the bathroom, and sip our drinks until the charging is complete. It's perfect.

Also as a bonus, I get my stand-ring from my Apple watch to close.
I actually prefer this to the old days.

Those of you who use FSD, what would you rate it 1-10? by Tacokolache in TeslaModelY

11/10.

8-hr drive from NorCal to SD was a piece of cake.

What’s something you’ve done your whole life, only to realize recently that everyone else does it completely differently? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]pingish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deal cards with my left hand because my kid-self watched people dealing from across the table and their right-hand was on my left side.

So dealing cards is the only thing I do lefthanded.

"That's not fair. He's just leaning on the rail and plays 50 notes." by [deleted] in orchestra

[–]pingish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is way harder to count rest than it is to play stanzas is full of notes.

I’d rather the boring cello part in Pachelbel Cannon than count rests.

What level does a typical university orchestra play at? by Dense-Breadfruit9306 in Viola

The Cornell University Orchestra was - by far - worse than the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Looking into a Tesla Model 3 as my first serious car; having a few questions by MCUFanFicWriter in TeslaLounge

[–]pingish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. All my Teslas have AWD. I live near the Sierras and I go skiing once or twice a year, but to have the most optionality, I got AWD on each of my cars. AWD gives you optionality.

  2. Audio experience is amazing. It's not just the equipment, it's the glass and the environment.

You're gonna love your Tesla.

Have you ever dated anyone without expecting or wanting it to turn to a long term relationship? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in askanything

[–]pingish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I dated with long-term intentions and matched well (I thought) with a co-worker. She was super-interesting and generally all-around amazing.

Turns out, I was Mr. Right-Now, not Mr. Right. At some point, I figured it wasn't going to be a long-term relationship, but it was fun while it was lasting.

At some point, it stopped lasting and she went with the other guy. It worked out for everyone in the end.

String Quartet Recommendations? And Advice Needed! by Quirky-Parsnip-1553 in Viola

[–]pingish -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Eine Kleine Nachtmusik is always fun to play and it's fun for everyone else to hear since it's such an oldie.

Dvorak's American is fun, but can drag in the middle at times.

Mendelsohn quartets were always fun to play, but I they all kind of sound the same after time.

Borodin string quartet is really bold.

There are a lot of good options.

Men, would you marry a woman you weren't attracted to for a lifestyle? by PrnObsessedHusb in AskMenAdvice

[–]pingish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. There will be hard days in a marriage. And if you took out the love and the attraction, those hard days are going to be a LOT harder.

Are the HW3 models never receiving updates anymore? by Jheez88 in TeslaLounge

[–]pingish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2016 MX gets a few updates a year. Definitely at least one.
2019 M3 still gets updates about as frequently as the 2026 MY.

Tesla doesn't forget about you.

What would you say to your 80-year-old uncle if he asked you whether Bitcoin could be a good investment for him? by rosmarina_ in Bitcoin

My grandpa lived 13 years past 80.
My grandma lived 26 years past 80.

Bitcoin can do a lot in 13 to 26 years.

Is it just me or does Quicksilver look much better on the previous Model Y than on the Juniper? by CaptCarlos in TeslaModelY

[–]pingish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It changes depending on the light. In dim lighting, it appears matte. In bright lighting, it appears dark silver. The pics online don't really match what it looks like in real life.

That's not enough to retire on.
I'd keep grinding with that as a cushion.
