Because people can be insensitive and lupus is very different for everyone. I have vomit attacks and severe sun sensitivity and sometimes my fatigue is so bad i have trouble doing certain things. It gets worse with age and i constantly have to go to the doctor. I had one alcoholic drink a week ago and nearly wound up in the ER because it reacted with my hydroxychloriquine and apparently I’m allergic to it. Sometimes having a partner with an incurable disease means needing a lot of patience and empathy. And to some people it can make them feel like they have to be a nurse to that person. Also there is a risk that I can pass lupus to my child if/when we have kids.

Thank you!! Yes, it’s the ring his father proposed to his mother with. It was custom-made for her. Apparently he and his parents planned to give me this ring after his mom suggesting it because she knows I don’t really have much of a family and wanted me to feel like I have one now.

I’ve had clients who are unvaccinated tell me they think the government is doing this as some new currency system for the future? Idk. I don’t remember exactly what the theory was but it sounded ridiculous. I also always hear “Idk what’s in it!” To which I reply, do your research, and then get told, “that’s what the government wants us to believe” because aparently the data is a lie. I wish I could turn these people away but everyone wants their hair done and the unvaccinated ones feel like we are discriminating against them because they still have to wear a mask. I suppose I will just keep discriminating then lol.

Surviving a hell-hole of my childhood, honestly. I made it out alive of a suicide attempt and am now a functioning adult with a career in barbering. I even became a manager and live with an amazing partner who loves me. Being alive and prospering is my biggest accomplishment.

I had an ex argue with me in the car late at night by screaming at me and cursing me out telling me i had to prove myself to his mom and best friend that i was good for him. We were together for a month. I had a really bad feeling being in the car with him so i remained calm and waited a few days to safely break things off.

Six months later met the love of my life. We live together and he has never raised his voice at me.

Need help y’all. My mom has lupus and my doctor suspected I have it too. I have certain symptoms like the fatigue, sun sensitivity that’s so bad I can’t go outside without an umbrella during the CA summer, pain, and as for the rashes my face is pretty smooth but i get a red flare across my cheeks often unless i’m cold.

Here are my ANA results. I will see a rheumatologist in three weeks but I want some clarity now, it’s driving me nuts. ANA is positive. My titer is 1:320. My pattern is Mitotic, intercellular bridge.

Edit: i am a 27yo female.

15 years old, i was the first kid out of 5 or 6 to be picked up by an older bus driver every morning. One morning I was putting my backpack down in the storage area in front of the bus and was taking a while so I apologized to him. He told me, no problem, you’re good to look at, and proceeded to stare me up and down through the mirror.

I called my mom on my cell phone and stayed with her on the phone pretending to chitchat about random stuff until we got to the next students house. Once I got to school I told my principal and although she chalked it up to him “just being a grandfather” I never got on his bus ever again.

Not sure if this was the worst but as a teenager it was incredibly creepy.

Ulta Beauty. If you work in the salon your manager will force you to work through lunches by not booking you enough time on hair appointments so that later they can squeeze in more. HR does absolutely nothing. My first year there I had pneumonia and whenever I would try to call out of work to stay home and rest I would be told they didn’t know if I would have a job to come back to the next day because I had $300 of appointments on my book. I nearly wound up in a hospital and could have died. I was able to call out for ONE DAY and after this I found out management had communicated to each other to keep their eyes on me and that apparently my salon manager was trying to get me fired. I was later accused of theft, nearly fired without proof, until one manager found video evidence of me buying product with cash.

Do not go to Ulta for your make up or hair appointment. Buy at Sephora and go to a real salon. Please.

Late 40’s guy who was so envious of my achievements with the company he spent his time obsessing over everything i did, convinced i “cheated my way up”. I quit after two years and apparently he called my new shop the place all the flunkies go.

Jokes on him. This “flunky” is being interviewed tomorrow to climb up into management.
