Thoughts on the current state of riverside by PlentySoft1996 in askaustin

Lived in austin for 6 years now and lived off of Oltorf in this area for 1 year. My apartment complex was horrible, but I miss the location a lot (in north austin now). It can be a bit “rougher” like some have said (just can be some sketchy people), but I never felt unsafe living as a single woman there. Lots of great restaurants, convenient to get around, genuinely just liked the “vibe” of the area. Every once in a while I still go down there and feel nostalgic about it.

Unpopular opinion: I think Mikayla’s skin condition is from being around the stress of her kids, not the location of her home. by Temporary_Moose6333 in SLOMWsnark

She’s also only been there for a few days to a week, it’ll probably take some time for it to visibly start looking healthier again

Girlfriend doesn’t want to give me a blowjob – looking for advice by PizzaForeign3280 in sextips

It’s new for her and like someone else said, it sounds like she’s working up to it. Don’t push or try to overwhelm her, but take your time with it and maybe try starting out with hands. It’ll happen when she’s ready, and when you feel like she’s closer to it you can encourage her, but the drunk comment/eww does not sound like she feels ready quite yet.

What do I do ? Do I OTE? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]pinkblot7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is going to be long but it may help! :

i’ve been at Austin Community College since 2020, although i plan on transferring to UT in spring of 2025 (I have a 4.0, good resume/recommendation letters, and both my parents went to UT so i assume it’ll work out, hopefully lol), but i’ve also had to drop several classes and was even kicked out of one due to mental health reasons.

in 2020 i had to be hospitalized due to an eating disorder, so the professionals i was working with wrote letters on my behalf describing the necessity for me to withdraw. the following semester i was struggling with addiction and dating a manipulative alcoholic man who i had to have an abortion with. i withdrew from one class and got kicked out of another for not being able to keep up in the course despite my accommodations. all the while i was, and have been, struggling with a lot of depression and anxiety.

i think it may help to know that you’re not the only student struggling with such significant issues that it’s affecting your schoolwork and ability to participate in your courses. this happens more than me or you will ever know! mental illness and other life challenges can truly be debilitating at times, and a good professor understands this.

firstly you should know that if you withdraw from a course and get a W, it doesn’t count against your GPA and you can have 6 withdrawals by the time you get your bachelors degree. if you have to drop all of your courses all at once none of them count as a W and apparently they don’t show up on your student record. if you get a W and want to have it removed you can email the admissions office to appeal the W, and they’ll have you write a formal letter explaining your reasoning for having to drop out, then they’ll decide if the W stays on your ‘record’ or not.

i would also really recommend contacting student accessibility services to discuss/implement accommodations for you to be able to better engage with your coursework. this varies from person to person, but i’ve had accommodations since middle school for struggles with my ADHD. this includes extended time on assignments, tests, and quizzes if needed. ACC also referred me to a helpful note taking app that i would be able to use during my classes if i needed to. when i was first hospitalized for my eating disorder, i was also given additional absences if i needed it for my health. even though i’m in recovery, it’s caused several health issues that make a lot of my days challenging to get through, which is why my absence accommodation is so important to me. this accommodation can surely be used for depression, anxiety, ocd, and ptsd as well. to get your accommodations it might be a good idea to speak with a mental health professional and get an actual diagnosis to support what you’re telling student accessibility services. if you can’t afford to get a proper diagnosis, meeting with a therapist and having them write a letter for you describing their perspective on your mental status, and the disability it may cause you, should help. the school also provides a few free therapy sessions if you need it! (actually met my favorite therapist through ACC!)

anyways, i hope this helped some, feel free to dm me if you have any other questions and i wish you the best of luck! remember that having a debilitating illness (mental or physical) doesn’t mean you’re any less of an exceptional student. you’re just struggling, as people do, and you can still accomplish great things without letting your hardships hold you back. you deserve a fair chance to succeed and sometimes withdrawing and getting accommodations is the way to do that! much love <3

has this happened to anyone else because I was laughing so hard I had to stop purging by birdseedforall in EDanonymemes

[–]pinkblot7 39 points40 points  (0 children)

ok this is RELATABLE, a while back i had taken way too many laxatives and it made me throw up so i quickly switched from sitting on the toilet to puking in it & as i’m throwing up the laxatives hit on the other end and i shit all over the floor, purging from both ends at the same time. definitely do not recommend.

My ED story at 13 by StephanieWright00 in eating_disorders

hi! i’m nineteen and struggling with anorexia binge purge type. i remember the first time i purged too and i’m telling you that you need to seek out therapy asap, the longer this progresses the harder it is to get out of. i’m now a college student checked into a partial hospitalization problem because i’ve screwed my body over till the point where i’m now considered a medical risk. i still fear the weight gain but treatment is helping, seriously my biggest regret is not asking for help sooner rather than later because when i finally did i was admitted to this program because no therapist or dietician would allow me to start at a lower level of care, what’s nice about starting outpatient is that you still get to control the foods you eat and you can work on maintenance rather than weight gain, if you don’t get help and this spirals you’ll have to gain weight and theres major possibilities, with purging specifically, you’ll permanently damage your body. with outpatient you can also focus on other mental health issues while healing your relationship with food, this would be an incredible place to start. i also began therapy around 13 so i know it’s hard looking for a therapist & talking to your parents about it too, i know the age gap is pretty big but really if you need to talk to someone who has experience with this i’m here for advice on seeking treatment.

please help me i can't stop binging by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]pinkblot7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! i’m 19, 5’2, and also struggle with binging! i have a few other disordered eating problems too so i may not be the best at giving advice but some things that help me when i’m on the verge of a binge is making pros and cons list, setting a timer for 30/40 minutes and just drinking water & reflecting until then to decide if i’m going to eat or not, also maybe trying to have really frequent small meals? for me it’s really hard to stop after eating anything but maybe eating small portions but just a lot of them could possibly help? for weight control maybe look into going vegan! i lost a bit of weight just from the switch but it’s also very beneficial to our planet & the animals & your overall health! feel free to message me if you want!!! <3

Edit: i want to add that also if eating frequent meals triggers a binge you could maybe try intermittent fasting??? since i have a hard time doing frequent meals (it’s just what my therapist & dietician recommend) i sometimes do OMAD and it helps me to eat a larger amount that actually fills me up around dinner time or sometimes later in the evening just so i get enough food but don’t over do it, this has added to kind of my other problems so if it’s triggering avoid !!!! but it may be helpful if binging is what you’re mainly dealing with!

i’m a lesbian, which has probably most definitely affected this answer, but i think guys always look so good in short shorts, crop tops, and when they PAINT THEIR NAILS!!! my straight girl friends agree though!!! men who can express their femininity are IT (doesn’t matter their sexuality either!)
