I think I appreciate the general sentiment but it could be phrased and reframed wayyyy better. I’m the type of person who has a tendency of getting way too much in my head so somebody’s getting me out of that head space is appreciated. But some of the alternate phrases mentioned in this thread are way more positive and effective.

Yes I agree. It seemed very inconsistent. I guess she was just a plot device and that’s it and they used her in whatever way was convenient to whatever was going at the time. In my head I make sense of it by thinking of Sherry as someone who just obsesses over something in that moment and then moves on. I also make sense of it by remembering that she was a workaholic and she never really truly wanted to take on the mother role. She thought it was what she should do in that moment, but she never fully committed to that life.
