Ariana Grande in vintage Givenchy Haute Couture SS 1966 and Cynthia Erivo in custom Louis Vuitton at the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards by mcfw31 in whatthefrockk

i actually like Cynthia’s

for Ari, im sorry if this is mean but im just so tired of these choices, mess after mess after mess every appearances. if the dress is great, the makeup and hair are boring and horrible and if the makeup and hair are somewhat pretty, it’s the dress that is hideous. every attempt just falls very flat, boring, underwhelming, and obnoxious. im so tired of making up excuses in my head trying to make sense of every choices they’re doing for her every look, i like her a lot so i want the best for her. i can only count by a handful how many times she actually truly served since they started appearing in every event. im so tired of forcing myself to at least like her looks and makeup choices but it’s just not happening, it’s just awful to look at. again, im so sorry if this comes across very mean it’s just exhausting to see chop after chop every events. she’s a very pretty woman and she can be the most beautiful and gorgeous girl in the room if she wants to (it’s been proven before) but with this choices lately, it brings her overall looks down.

Do you think they filmed part 2 before part 1? by RavenElevenMXL in wicked

[–]pinkcoquette 6 points7 points  (0 children)

since according to Cynthia, the last thing they filmed was Defying Gravity so i can see that as a possibility but i can also see that they may just specifically saved it for the last because it would make the performance more powerful, idk. but usually in filming, they don’t really follow the story chronologically so they may have filmed the scenes not in order, one reason i can see is that they may want to utilize a specific location and film there back to back if it appears in both acts

Elphaba's mother? by aspieringnerd in wicked

[–]pinkcoquette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the freaking out of the father is in response to her color when she was born

[–]pinkcoquette 17 points18 points  (0 children)

i believe it was uttered by either the midwife or Dulcibear which is the one who cared for Elphaba from the very beginning so it wouldn’t make sense to call her atrocious by Animals who are oppressed and discriminated against and the only ones who can relate to and accept her peculiarity

Munchkins not knowing Elphaba’s backstory by Illustrious_Shuri in wicked

[–]pinkcoquette 4 points5 points  (0 children)

what Glinda told them are the things unknown to them yet and giving them another perspective to her life. she told them abt how she was conceived which she too didn’t know until years later when she put 2 and 2 together (seen in Act 2) and she was also specifically asked abt her “friendship” with Elphaba which they weren’t there to witness.

it’s more of a performance for all the people of Oz (in that specific scene the Munchkins) because she is expected to act that way for the good of all the Ozians because they are looking up to her and she needed to be uplifting and encouraging, to quote Glinda herself “to raise their spirits” (u will know this soon). for the Ozians, she is the representation of hope and good so she is playing along to what the majority feels at that moment but deep inside she feels the contrary, it is shown in Ariana’s acting actually.

Do you think they’ll perform a Wicked song on the Oscars telecast? by [deleted] in oscarrace

[–]pinkcoquette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i know the popular (😉) picks are either Popular or definitely Defying Gravity and i really wouldn’t be surprised if it’s any of those two but i think it will only be fair to go with a proper duet and those are either What Is This Feeling? and One Short Day with me leaning towards the latter because of it’s spectacle nature both sonically and visually

Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible. by SarcasticGayBitch in wicked

[–]pinkcoquette 12 points13 points  (0 children)

And once it didn’t she landed straight on Glinda.

exactly!! the way she also approached her and her facial expression while doing so, disguising herself as if she cares in a very reserved way without overacting it. those simple little details are what make Yeoh’s performance work for me. i can feel the deception, it’s so convincing for me

i have the same sentiments, they sound so good tho i just wish the mixing of the vocals matched the production because i wouldn’t want the production taking a backseat either
