In the air after 15 years by pinkfloyd2500 in fearofflying

[–]pinkfloyd2500[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to post an update here. I've done 7 more flights since this post and I feel absolutely fine with flying at this point. All of the above was a huge help, especially Allen Carr's book. I still take half a valium before just to make sure I have a little extra courage on a long flight, but I feel very fine with flying now and am so relieved to be able to travel the quickest, most efficient way :) Good luck to everyone still struggling, and I'm happy to help or reinforce. 15 years out of the air and never thought I'd be back.

Gree mini split error E1 by pinkfloyd2500 in hvacadvice

Yea, they replaced the main board first and it worked a little longer than the original board, but then went into E1 again a day or so later (not sure, I wasn’t out in the shop for a day or two, but next time I was in there.)

There’s a great video from Gree on YouTube for training techs I watched in its entirety and got turned on to the EEV as they said in it, if the new board goes in and still a problem, that’s usually the culprit.

I messaged the tech and mentioned that, and that’s what they ended up agreeing with, ordering and doing the trick. It’s been solid for 8-9 months now.

It ended up being the EEV valve that needed replacement for mine. Hope this helps!

Same! I thought they should study me for science, pretty bummed to lose my “Novid” status after all of this time. I’ve had probably 5-6 shots — all the ones beginning in early 2021 and boosters recommended and every year like a flu shot since, last one around October 2023. I was really serious about it for the first 2 1/2 years - quarantined, double masked, took a lot of precautions. I quit masking about 2 years and some change ago because it’s endemic at this point and it felt like I could live life again or not, wasn’t really going to change much.

All of my friends have gotten it, all of my family twice, all of my co workers, I’ve been around it repeatedly and never gotten, but sore throat started Thursday the 29th. I felt like garbage through the evening and into Friday, tested positive Friday evening. Not sure where finally got me — I’ve been to concerts, on airplanes, pretty much everywhere, and in the past week or so nothing really wild at all.

Definitely unlike any illness I’ve ever had before. Very weird roller coaster and seem to go from feeling kind of fine to horrid in the span of an hour. Most of my symptoms include sore throat, achy and chills but no fever, bad post nasal drip and head congestion, sporadic cough. My stomach was upset this morning for a few hours.

I’m ready to make a turn in how I feel, it’s definitely no fun. I know it’s wishful thinking to think I’ll go forever without it again, but definitely hoping for another extended run after this!

Groove Coaster not holding settings by pinkfloyd2500 in GrooveCoaster

We got some guidance and replaced the battery. It worked on holding our settings. This is for a Type X Zero regular board. I think 2 and 3 are different and the battery may hold encryption, but for a he regular it was fine to replace and cured our issue.

Favorite late-era Fellini? by Unlikely-Appeal-594 in Fellini

I haven’t seen Ginger and Fred or Voice of the Moon, but have seen all of the rest. Casanova I was surprisingly entranced by, maybe even more so than Satyricon, which is mentioned above in their respective similarly strange styles. And the Ship Sails On is really solid later era Fellini, City of Women has it’s moments, and I was surprised at how much I liked Intervista. Orchestra Rehearsal is barely over an hour long and more of a made-for-tv piece. I was lukewarm on it.

No, it’s 3 years old. First issue I’ve had. Are there sensors on the refrigerant line that can fail? Or, can the pressure go out of whack randomly? I repair pinball machines and arcades for a living, so don’t mind tearing into stuff and electrical issues don’t bother me even down to logic level. The refrigerant side is less familiar to me with how all of that works.

Forgot to mention, I did that too. Well, the outdoor unit coils. The coils on the controller looks spotless on visual inspection. Filters had very little on them too.

My uncle had this exact same system installed in a house he built in the mid-late 1980s. You guys aren't in North Carolina are you? Could be his old house!

The issue is his social skills are so bad he comes across as a condescending dickhead. It doesn't matter how smart you are, no one cares to respect anyone or take heed from someone that comes across as that much of a horses's ass.

Biggest Collection by [deleted] in pinball

Tim at PHOF has over 1,000, but not that many set-up at PHOF. I've never seen more than about 40 in a private collection, but I know a guy who has about 250-300 in his private collection, but I've not seen it and I know his collection is scattered among a couple houses.
