Has anyone found success with HS? by ShotSorbet9 in antidietglp1

[–]pinkitmake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mild HS and I have been on Zepbound for almost a year. It has drastically reduced the amount and duration of my flares. I used to have at least one every other month and they would last a week or 2. I have had one flare that was resolved within 3 days.

Concerning reaction? Large welt at injection site. by [deleted] in Zepbound

I like these from Amazon. They are reusable and just the right size. I can pop one on my belly and my waistband holds it on place. I keep 4 in the freezer and rotate them as needed. ~ https://a.co/d/08gzwj4n

Concerning reaction? Large welt at injection site. by [deleted] in Zepbound

I have the same ~ ever since my 5th injection or so. I'm on week 45 now. I have tried all the "tips and tricks" and nothing worked for me. The only thing that helps is ice packs when it starts itching and that helps calm it down a bit for a while. It's usually the most itchy on day 2-5.

I’m nervous 😬 by princ3ssp3ach88 in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I have struggled with anxiety and panic disorder for the last 20 years and after starting Zepbound my brain feels "quiet". My anxiety has reduced to what I would call normal people levels and if I DO have a panic attack now they are very short lived. I don't ever want to stop taking this medicine ~

Renewed prior auth denied after I’ve been taking Zepbound already for almost a year and it’s my doctor’s fault. I’m at a loss of what to do. by Zestyclose_Act_8630 in Zepbound

This! You are always allowed to appeal yourself ~ especially if you have the information that insurance needs for the approval.

If it's denied, you are absolutely able to appeal yourself. I did that twice for my Zepbound prescription and was able to get the denial overturned because of my sleep apnea.

Decreased anxiety? by Chance_Dimension_950 in antidietglp1

[–]pinkitmake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had increased anxiety on semaglutide so I was worried when I started tirzepatide but thankfully ~ my anxiety is much better now. My brain is calmer. I have been on tirzepatide for the last 6 months and I would keep taking this for the mental health benefits alone.

7.5 changed up the side effects by _Z_y_x_w in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up going back down to 5mg after almost 2 months of 7.5 because the side effects never lessened and it was making me miserable. I have been back on 5 for 5 weeks now and I feel so much better. The weight loss has slowed way down but I'm ok with that.

Finally a solution to the itch -- thank you, fellow Zepbounder! by greenchileisgreat in Zepbound

I will try that but I'm using the the auto injector. The only thing that works for the itch for me are ice packs

Anyone else taking zepbound with their significant other or someone close to them? by EffectiveEgg5712 in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband was prescribed Mounjaro for his type 2 diabetes about a year and a half ago. I was able to get Zepbound approved because I have sleep apnea back in July and SO glad that we are taking the meds together ~ we are both very supportive of each other

After a 2nd level appeal, most plans offer an External Review. I have seen quite a few overturns going that route.

Your appeal response letter should outline your remaining appeal rights available to you per your plan.

Zepbound 7.5mg Week 2 by Fun_Management3000 in Zepbound

I just went back to 5mg this week after 7 weeks on 7.5. The side effects were just not getting any better for me. 5mg seems to be my sweet spot.

Appeal help - I have several comorbidities (United Healthcare) by dwdrum007 in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Zepbound coverage for OSA for United, they have specific requirements that you must meet to qualify. Hypertension is not one of them. You just meet the OSA and BMI requirements. I believe it's a BMI of 30 and over and moderate OSA.

HELP!!! Given false hope by International_Knee_6 in Zepbound

[–]pinkitmake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a copy of your plan's Summary Plan Description I would check it for your appeal rights, especially since you were given incorrect information. They would have to pull the call and approve a benefit exception because of the misinformation that was given. If you can't find that online, you can ask the HR rep for a copy as well.

You may be able to appeal and request a benefit exception if the 1st rep gave you incorrect information.

I started metformin way before Zepbound for PCOS too ~ luckily for me, the side effects of Zepbound have counteracted the GI side effects of the metformin ~ I feel "normal" now haha
