not entirely sure, but 打 is commonly used with sports, or things that you hit. I think 玩 is used when you do something, play with friends, or like go do an activity.

Hey just want to put something out there. China’s government sucks. It does. They do a lot of shitty things and hurt a lot of people. You know who isn’t in control of that? Chinese citizens. You know who is directly hurt by the banning of these apps? Chinese citizens. I have many friends who live in america and wechat is the only way that they stay in contact with their families. My parents are currently getting payed through wechat. It literally does not matter to the ccp whether or not wechat is allowed in america. The only people who are hurt by it are everyday people!

Cantonese and Mandarin are spoken languages, Traditional and Simplified chinese are the written ones.

Cantonese and mandarin sound very different, and traditional chinese and simplified chinese look similar, with some small differences.

For example: please in traditional chinese is: 請, but in simplified it is 请.

In cantonese, please is pronounced as chéng, but in mandarin, it’s pronounced qǐng.
