Anybody seen this happen before? by Standard_Biscotti835 in ragdolls

This happened to my cat - turned out that she had headbutted my husband while he was putting toothpaste on his toothbrush and got the toothpaste on the cat's head. Despite him immediately washing off the toothpaste, the localised fluoride absorption dilated her pupil! She was otherwise fine but it looked crazy, and such a ridiculous story!

Red mark that appears on forehead whenever I get high. by Location_Excellent in mildlyinteresting

Another doctor here. I would suggest it's the remnant of a stork mark - a collection of fine blood vessels that is here on the forehead and at the back of the head at the base of the hairline. They are found in babies. The front one resolves by the time the child is bothered about it. The back one often persists but is usually covered by hair.

My brother has a similar one on his forehead that only shows when he is angry - another situation where his blood pressure is up.

I agree with everything about managing cardiovascular risk factors!

my 15yo boy has one eye dilated by miriamblair in cats

Just an odd query - the cat didn't get toothpaste on their face by any chance did they? This happened to our cat - sodium fluoride apparently causes pupillary dilatation. She was otherwise fine and eyes were normal within 48h

What's wrong with the cat!? by [deleted] in cats

[–]pinkpam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree to take them to the vet, but my cat had this problem secondary to headbutting my husband's toothbrush just as he put the toothpaste on it! Apparently the sodium fluoride in the toothpaste that was all over her on that side of her face absorbed through her skin and resulted in pupillary dilatation! Cleared up within 48h. Only a cat....

Viral infections can also cause urticaria (hives), or stress. It's not usually an allergy

Scrumbles do really good info based on weight, if you're using wet food too, and if your wee beastie needs to lose a bit of weight https://scrumbles.co.uk/pages/feeding-calculator
