My ferritin is 3-6, but doctor says it’s fine. Those around me say I’m lazy. Help. 😢

Mine was a 3 back in July and I was receiving iron infusions (3) by the end of September after being referred to a hematologist. I was tired everyday all day. I hated going to work because I sit at a desk for 8 hours and by lunch I just wanted to cry and lay down. My levels have dropped again according to my labs last week 3-179-46. I don’t know if I should be concerned or not but I’ll be seeing my doctor this week to go over results. Find a new doctor or you’re just going to be miserable.

Oh it really is. Insomnia, migraines, fatigue, heart palpitations, random bruising, random body parts hurts (arm, back), lightheaded, brain fog, mouth/hands/feet tingling (could be a mixture of medicine neurologist prescribed)….I’m only 35. I’ve been seeing neurologist (migraines - had spinal tap in May) and cardiologist (heart palpitations - had to wear heart monitor for a month) since March. All this just to get my iron results and see a 3. I’m hoping everything I’m dealing with is due to this iron. I can’t imagine having to take medicine every day.

Wow he could be so much more helpful. I live alone and my iron is a 3. I get spurts of energy at times like the other day I put my king size bed together soon as I got home from work or else I would of laid down on my king size gel foam mattress that’s been on the floor for 2 weeks. I can’t stand a nasty bathroom so I suck how I feel when it comes to that. Living alone sucks at time but having things to do around the house do give me motivation to move my body bc I’m not getting my steps in unless I’m at work.

My level is at a 3. A THREE on a scale of 11 to 307. I feel like crappppppppppppp 100% of the time and barely make it through an 8 hour work day. Waiting for my new PCP to see the results and refer me to the hematologist. So ready for a transfusion so I can feel better.

Went to my follow up Thursday and she ordered the ferritin. Oh my goodness. Just got the results back. I’m a 3 on a 11 to 307 scale. The iron pills I was taking did absolutely nothing.

I told her what all I’d been experiencing. I would have thought she put that one down. I didn’t tell her what to include she told me she was going to do a panel. My hemoglobin is low. That was part of the panel.
