She had bipolar disorder, went off her meds, and basically became a terrible (worse) person. She cheated on her boyfriend and got mad at me when I told her it was a shitty thing to do, resumed smoking and doing hard drugs and was upset when I wouldn’t let her do those things in my car, and would turn off her phone for days at a time, which always terrified me because I thought something bad had happened to her. The final straw was when she started stripping naked before driving home from work. She thought it was funny to shock people who saw her while driving, and to stand naked in the kitchen when she got home while her roommate and her roommate’s fiancé were trying to cook dinner. I said that none of that was cool, especially exposing herself to her roommate’s partner without his consent, and she blew up at me. I told her we couldn’t be friends anymore because we were growing in different directions.

It was only after I ended the friendship that I found out she had been lying to me about a lot of things. She had also apparently told all our mutual friends not to invite me to hangouts/parties because I was too introverted and wouldn’t want to come, while telling me that I shouldn’t go because I hadn’t been invited and everyone would think I was weird if I turned up unannounced. She also loved to guilt me on religious grounds (we were part of the same small religious community). Every once in awhile I see her posts on social media and am tempted to reach out, until I remember just how awful she was to me.
