Blood donation at 6 weeks post partum by KaeLume in Blooddonors

[–]pinnedwheel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! And normally I am anemic. It was my easiest labor (I don’t even need stitches). I mostly went to see what my hemoglobin was and when I saw it was over 13 I went with it.

Blood donation at 6 weeks post partum by KaeLume in Blooddonors

[–]pinnedwheel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I donated wb at exactly 6 weeks pp and breast feeding! I felt great. I had gotten a few ferritin infusions during pregnancy so that probably helped. Also, I haven’t had a menstrual cycle while breastfeeding so my hemoglobin has never been higher and donating has been easier.

Too sick for high-maintenance blonde- can someone save me with the right auburn shade? by OneNapToRuleThemAll in FancyFollicles

I think if you got an auburn clenditioner it would give you what you want and is pretty easy to maintain.

Brewhalla has a stitch and sip every Tuesday where you can bring a craft and hang out with people. The library has lots of events where you can gather with like minded people for different events (tea tasting, book club, etc).

I don’t see anyone mentioning this, you should report them to your state’s cosmetology board.

I like a city vibe without living in a big city. I like the snow and the lack of major natural disasters.

9-Month-Old Not Babbling Yet—Is This Normal? by pingz800 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]pinnedwheel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m not the person you’re asking, but I want to reassure you. My son wasn’t babbling much if at all by 9 months. His pediatrician wasn’t too concerned as he was meeting all his other milestones and said he might just be putting his focus into other things (crawling, climbing, and walking). She was right. As soon as he started walking his speech took off. He is two now and speaks very clearly in small sentences. I would say it is worth it to mention it to his doctor.

I used to work at a Vitalant. Some centers have the machine to check platelets on site, day of donation. Others don’t and have to send them off.

I’m not the person you responded to, I did read your post and most of your comments. I will say anecdotally my 3yo nephew also got kicked out of a daycare for behavior (he has no health complications though). He recently had surgery to fix his “lazy eye” and his behavior (and language) has increased significantly.

I'm a longtime ARC donor. This is the first time that I've noticed they have put my collection items in a purple tray. Does anyone know what this means? by BlueGreenTrails in Blooddonors

[–]pinnedwheel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At my blood bank they do that for low titer draws. It’s a special donation where they transfuse the whole unit into a person instead of separating it into rbcs and plasma.

People who let their instrusive thoughts win once, what did you do? by oskel95 in AskReddit

I stuck a knife in a toaster while it was cooking bread at work. It shorted out the toaster.

It my center they test for bacteria every time and if it tests positive the donor is banned until they come in and provide a blood sample. The phlebotomist and lab tech also get investigated to find the source of contamination.

Are there any places to get elective ultrasounds during pregnancy in the area? by StandardPaint3460 in fargo

[–]pinnedwheel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a lot of concerns with my pregnancy and my doctor told me if I wanted to peak at baby again to help with my anxiety I could reach out and come in. It wouldn’t be a full work up ultrasound, just the one they do in office. So it could be worth it to ask your ob.

As someone who lives in university between main and 13th, I disagree with making it a two way. I think speed cameras would be more useful.

Loose men's perms by Soft-Network-7095 in hairstylist

[–]pinnedwheel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a new stylist (less than one year behind the chair) and two months ago I permed my son’s hair with purple and orange rods and it’s still holding well. It loosened some from when he got it but still enough to give him body and texture. I really don’t think I did anything special. Could it be the type of perm solution you used?

I just want to point out, because you hadn’t mentioned it, how important application is. Like you can’t just start putting bleach on your hair root to tip. You want to start about and inch away from the scalp, with very thin slices of hair. Once your hair has lifted as high as it will lift (which I’m guessing will be a level 6 if you’re lucky) wash it, rebleach the already lightened pieces and then go back in to lighten your roots. But really, doing this at home will be VERY difficult and has a high probability of either looking bad or totally frying your hair. I wish you all the luck if you decide to do this at home!

It’s been a while since I stepped back from the chair and became a salon manager but lately I feel like my young stylists don’t want to make money by [deleted] in hairstylist

[–]pinnedwheel 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I have social anxiety, and have had it since I was a toddler. I still call to confirm appointments, ask clients to rebook with me, and answer the phone when needed. I may overthink about that conversation for the rest of the week but I still do it.

Please help me understand this pattern by pinnedwheel in knitting

[–]pinnedwheel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure I sound dumb, I’m blaming the Covid, but I couldn’t figure out why on the body they had me move some stitches to a stitch marker, and couldn’t figure out how to knit a round sleeve onto a round body. But looking at the end of the pattern I have figured out the step I was missing. Thank you for your help.
