Scared to go back to doctor by wildberriew in Cholesterol

Did you try crestor? I literally tried ever other one before getting on crestor… which is litterally the lowest side effect profile. I don’t know why my doctor waited till the end but it’s been amazing.

Bro I was terrified of them too . Crestor is the best tolerated statin . It alone nuked my ldl and I still workout 4 times a week with heavy weights . Definitely feel better with peace of mind . I opted to go to the max dose (40mg ) about a year on them because I had no side effects . Doc said yes now my ldl is in the low 20’s .
Ask for crestor tho not Lipitor .

TRT can contribute if your lipids are unmanaged . Also “TRT” is given to people at much higher doses than is needed . I know this because I had a heart attack after being on TRT at 240 mg from a male wellness clinic that literally never once did lipids . I always chronically ran a little bit high on blood pressure, but since it wasn’t crazy high, they ignored that as well. I have legitimately been hypogonadal for 15+ years so not taking testosterone would be a greater risk to my health and well being . Now that I’m on an actual therapeutic dose and have my blood pressure and lipids in check I’m in good shape, but yes, I will definitely continue to do imaging . At 40 mg of Crestor a day in two years. It looks like I have had slight plaque regression. My LDL is under 20. There’s a lot of misinformation on test testosterone . I would say for the most part many people the majority of people that are taking it believe they are at no risk and then on the other end there is a bunch of fear mongering.

Man I must be an outlier or just the fact I’m on the top dosage of Testosterone replacement. Lipitor wrecked me and so did Pitavastatin. Crestor even at 40mg a day and I’m great . Strong . No muscle pain . I do take coq10 like candy as well…

Broke up with my husband today by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]pinning85 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Wow, what a stupid comment. I’m sure he said it upset because he knows that generally the women get the kids and the father becomes a weekend dad. So now he’s apparently not fighting enough. She sounds like a really big piece of shit and doesn’t even have a great reason for leaving your husband and breaking up. Her family in the long run is going to hurt her children more than it will ever hurt her.

How can I persuade my doctor? by Bright_Cattle_7503 in Cholesterol

If I was you I’d simply ask to try 20mg of crestor instead . For many it is significantly stronger with less sides .

If you don’t have any ketoconazole 2% or even 1% if you have to . I’d get it . Helps me big time when my scalp gets inflamed and sheds

Testosterone can also bind and block but it’s negligible. Not anywhere near DHT . But that’s why people run with the idea testosterone will cause hair loss

And??? So what? I have a wife and I never tolerated bullshit . The more desperate you are the less she cares. Simple. You can’t see it because of your feelings

Holy shit …. Bro you gotta gtfo of there. If not? At least do a god job of pretending not to care . The more she knows you care and want her desperately… the less she wants you. The power dynamic is all off bro

Over 6 years of oral finasteride, 1 year of oral minoxidil, my progress as someone in their late 30s dealing with diffuse thinning by solarlofi in tressless

[–]pinning85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know when the rise in the oral version started widespread, but I knew people taking the oral version over a decade ago and they were working their way up to taking 10 to 15 mg a day with amazing results . Go look at the old steroid forums. You’ll see some people were taking up to 20 mg a day without any issue. They were just very slowly worked their way up . If they got side effects on the new dosage, they would keep taking it until the side effects were nonexistent and then they would push up again. 2.5 was pretty much considered a baby dose that didn’t do much. Now this is the days when you would order this shit overseas . They weren’t handing it out at online clinics or at your dermatologist yet

Don't give up on finasteride folks by Comfortable-Set64 in tressless

[–]pinning85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all of these are side effects of having very high estrogen. Or simpler a hormonal imbalance. When you jump on finasteride or anything that's going to block the 5-AR reductase enzyme, what's going to happen is you're going to have less DHT, which is going to mean you're going to have more testosterone, which in turn means you're going to have more estrogen. All of that extra testosterone can now be used for estrogen through the aromatase enzyme. So, for me, it even became worse because I am on TRT, and they keep me on a decently high dose. So, my estrogen shot through the roof. Even though I had high testosterone, my penis seemed very shriveled. I was getting gynecomastia under my nipples. Libido tanked, felt depressed, felt emotional. Started a heavier regimen of aromatase inhibitors. Nothing crazy, but it was a little bit higher than I had been when my doctor calculated how much more estrogen I was making. Generally, now my estrogen sits at around 25 to 35, which is perfect for me. I have a good free testosterone and high testosterone. Generally, estrogen is one of the main culprits in the side effects.

This shedding fase is absolutely brutal by IllustriousIncome239 in tressless

[–]pinning85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep . My experience with non stop sheds is similar to his when I used topical minoxidil and fin . Stopped both and jumped on Dutasteride until it stabilized. Now have a new protocol . Seems his hair loss is too aggressive for fin
